or you cant wire two 500 watt psu's for 1/4 of the cost of ocz's crap, not worth it. LOL they're all the same size if they're meant to fit in a atx case. and so far I see alienware is the only ones using them :-\
i need a cheap power supply for my computer but i cant find one, if anyone has any ideas can you please help me?
i have an AMD phenom x4
640 gb hard drive
and i am buying an ATI radeon hd 5770 upgrading from my ATI radeon hd 3450, at the moment i only have a 300watt PSU and im thinking i need around 500 watts? i really have no clue, thanks
@artymowycz LOL Professional gaming.. I smell another jobless welfare recipient. and how you suppose your going to pay for all of this, and a house/aptartment and food, and clothes.. yes in my off time I get out and play paintball. A nationally recognized sport. not sit on a computer 24/7 playing WOW, actually, name one game that pays you to play (enough to support yourself, figure about $1000 a month minimum)
@Me102288 i don't play professionally anymore. I was a high ranked 3's player in wow, i got to play in a tournament and made 5 000 which was cool and i played cal-i CS:s which made me about 20,000 over 2 years. i would say i had a pretty good run considering i was only 16-17 at the time. Now im getting ready to play minor pro hockey, develope some skill and move to europe to play pro in germany.
@artymowycz where did you compete in tournaments in counterstrike? I was invited once but was making $2000 bi weekly as a welder/fitter, so it wasnt worth it. I remember playing that game 6 or 7 years ago when it was still on WON not Steam.
Is it me, or is this guy just KickAss? Everything he reviews is KickAss! Surely, he can review something thats not KickAss? I guess he is just LICKASS with the companies that give him the products to review!! NUMPTY!
no they don't. there is only one 8-pin connector but it does have 4 6-pin connectors. one thing that he doesn't mention that i think he tried to imply was the noise level. it does run really stable with 8800 gtx SLI. i would have chosen something different if i hadn't purchased it for $80.00. so unless you can find this for under $130.00 i suggest u buy a different PSU.
@dchains ever better is I cant find any system that requires that much power.. I'm an A+ certified pc tech. Of course, you can add all kinds of stuff you don't need to bring it up to that .. :-/ waste of money, 500w psu's are the most common because its more then enough to run the average pc
This is a noob question, but does the watt matter on the productivity of the PSU???

Remember rodney's rating system. Good = crap, Kickass = good and 100% Kickass = truly kickass.

Anyone know a psu with 6x 6-pin pci-e conncetors, preferrably modular?
athompson1989 3 years ago
None, you can buy one with 4 x 6-pin and use the 2 extra 4-pin MOLEX to 6-pin that usually come with the graphic cards
MugenRac1ng 3 years ago
Look at the Corsair HX series.
