I've got this on vinyl. The grooves on this track were cut extra wide; you can almost fit a coin between them and it made my speakers gasp for forgiveness! I feel a little disappointed with myself that i never played this as much as i had wanted to. The brilliant musicianship just oozed out from within. Glad I was into all this the same. ¦¬D
This was the theme song for my life in the mid to late seventies and on into the eighties. Thanks fro posting this - from a small town white boy who just can't get enough of the real pioneers of funk. Pure musical genius!
we jammed on this and T/P, herbie and chic in 1976 with a band called union pacific in hawaii @ the point after , Roger,Terry, Fred, Mike , Bobby, and jim. great too see people still dig real music . very cool, clark is super bad. then and now.
used this track to test my stereos...worked every time! this is one funky little song!
Always believed Ken Scott - recording engineer is a genius! He is behind the best albums in rock and jazz - all of them with pristine sound. Through his work I learned what good music should sound like.
@ThyLiquor hi I'm your next door neighbour I want to thank you for playing this track but must urge you to get 2000 watt speakers and play this music as loud as you can. If windows are not breaking you're not playing loud enough. Many thanks your neighbour.
@Laight4work Yes he does. Gadd is the one of the dirtiest drummers to ever beat the skins. Dude bleeds groove into that kit every time he sits on the throne.
Hard hitting funk

Isn't the drummer Billy Cobham?

@ssssroryssss2 Steve Gadd is the only listed drummer. And Gadd's style and amazing time keeping abilities are pretty apparent in this tune.
