This is a tough one. What I'm still not sure about: the embryo, which is destroyed in the process - would it grow into a human if you let it? Because if that's the case, then I kind of think that this should be decided by those that hope to have their condition (whatever it might be) cured by this research. Because if they took responsibility, it'd be an argument between their benefits and their conscience. Only they can really know how urgent getting a cure must be.

The cost is not that great, the US already spends over $2 Trillion a year, instead of every person paying individually, why not put all $2trillion into 1 big pot and then use the collective leverage to force the providers to lower the costs.

Right now the arguments against healthcare all stem from the industry which does not want the cash cow to dry up, they would rather people go bankrupt or die then their profit margins dropping - so much for the hippocratic oath.

Doctors don't deserve to make that money? United States doctors are the some of the best and most dedicated professionals in the world. They spend, at the minimum, eight years in school, costing well over $140,000.

So Universal Health Care would provide a larger need for doctors, therefore cheapening school costs, therefore allowing more students and lower grades into the profession, therefore lowering the quality of the profession and sending us back into the dark ages.

Doctors are not profiting from the current system, they are employees of the healthcare system Their workload is currently increased with admin and ethics twisted everyday while they argue with insurance companies whether patients be treated or not.

Why would schools drop the tuition price? they are not part of the healthcare system.

Europe also has some of the best Dr's and it provides the same excellent healthcare to rich or poor alike.

The price drop from the schools would come from government mandates because they need more doctors. Regardless of what they do, the government will be paying for the extra cost so more students can attend, and more students can pass.

Excellent healthcare? I have friends from England. Ones brother had to wait in line with a broken arm for two hours because there were 3 people in front of him with the common cold.
