is there any historical meaning to this song to inspire korean nationalism ? i am not korean so i need some help understanding this great song. i know that the port of busan was very modern because of japanese influence and occupation, and also became a refugee city. is there more?

@stupidsminkle I'm a Korean. This song has nothing to do wih Korean nationalism, none whatsoever. This a song that describes a particular person's longing for his family(meaning his parents and brothers and sisters) and lover whom he left at Busan.

PS: of course this sort of musics could stir up all sorts of emotion, sadness, pain, love, longing of the past.never to return. Depending on who, how, when and where it is sung, it could strongly spring up nationalism as well. Guess a great music can do so much.
