Sara Recor (at the time married to music manager Jim Recor), fell for Fleetwood and began an affair with him while Nicks and Fleetwood were still together. @TheKafa84 pt.2 Stevie's best friend was Robin [Snyder Anderson] she had been since Stevie was 14 years old. Stevie was devastated in 1982 when Robin died of cancer. Stevie considers "Sara" to be her alter ego... i have seen many interviews where Stevie discusses her relationship with Mick and she has said that both her and Mick agreed that their affair needed to end because it would destroy the band forever. However, I believe she truly did love Mick. I am not denying Sara was Stevie's friend.

Stevie is even better now then she was in her young days. The Band actually gets better! I watched this concert at Staples center in 2009. One of the best concerts iv'e ever been to. I never realized how great Lindsey Buckingham was. Christine McVie needs to get back with her Band for the next one. It would be Phenominal!!!

Sara has always been one of the most beloved FM songs, yet it was not performed live for at least a decade which made it almost feel like it was being 'witheld' from their fans. They finally start doing it again, and it seems forced and anything but heartfelt (at least to me). Am I being too critical or reading into something that isn't there?

I can see what you are saying...it doesn't seem as she's as into it as say on the '79-'80 shows, of course, that was 30 years ago! And, for note, it was 16 years that Sara disappeared.  Played during the Mac's 1988 tour of Europe with Billy Burnette and Rick Vito, and not resurrected until the second leg of the Say You Will tour in 2004!

Stevie's talked openly about how they play make-believe romance for the crowds even though their relationship is completely platonic (he's married with children and she's friends with the wife). Check any live Sarah or Landslide performances from '97 onwards and watch the same romantic gestures during the same parts in the songs. I think it's a bit offensive considering that fans are presuming some sort of unrequited love between them when the opposite is true

But now that you mention it, I guess it does make sense; songwriters write about personal experience! I agree that it's offensive that some weird fans would not let sleeping dogs lie. @pismo10 Yes, I think you are right....but then it is only in midlife that I began to realize the special bond that will always exist between former lovers...long after the "relationship" ends...it is interesting that so many of Fleetwoods fans want to see them as the still "perfected couple"...such an image from our youth, it represents a part of a youthful beautiful past, a past now long behind us.
