  • I love it, thanks so much for posting!!

  • A fun collection of stills set to to a wonderful song. Something tells me those two chicks in teddies are more than just good friends!

  • Really enjoy Ben Selvins recordings. Tks

  • Selvin had a hot little band and this number just proves it- great! Love the pics as well- never seen any of them and greatly enjoyed. The old gals in the witches hat were a hoot!

Thanks for this- you did just fine with it.

  • I would like to hear in a phonogram...

  • This seems to show or flaunt Homosexuality back in the days of flappers and the ' CHARLESTON '.....

  • ¡¡¡Very Good!!! Magnífico, muy bueno. Una hermosa pieza que nos trae la nostalgia de tiempos idos... ¡Muchas gracias!

  • Thanks for another wonderful video and tune Gregory - I LOVE Ben Selvin :)

  • Another good record of this is by Jack Hylton's band.

  • Emily, your grandafther was one of the THE most prolific band leaders on record (if you didn't already know that, but most posters don't), working for virtually every major record company for 1919 through 1934, before becoming a recording executive and producer himself...

    Thanks for the laugh!

Great version of a very vibrant tune.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Yes, this was also recorded by him (with the same vocal) for Columbia on October 15, 1925, as "The Knickerbockers"- the Vocalion release was another take under his OWN name, two months later...although it's hard to tell if you hear both!

  • This one features a rare vocal by Selvin himself, recorded for Vocalion on Christmas Eve, 1925....

  • Selvin vocals are not that rare, he often sings the vocals on his Brunswicks and Vocalions and ocasionaly on Columbias. He had an unmistakable sound but one I like.

  • hi! so cool to see my grandpa's music on you tube! thanks for paying attention...emily selvin

  • @emselvin I play this daily. Makes you want to get up and do what needs what needs to be done!

  • I'm sure 90% the trumpet player is Earl Oliver

  • 20's sound at its best.

  • Lovely bouncy tune and singing. I hope he learns how to do the Charleston and gets his baby back - but not if it's one of the last picture's babies. :)

  • What a great song! I have a recording of it sung by Jane Green. Your photos are super! I'm starting to watch all your postings
