  • The music reminds me of SNL.

  • I Think that the cast of Sqaure One TV (if they're still alive), would be the next guest stars of WWE RAW.

  • This show sucks. And I resented having to watch it.

But it gave us Larry Cedar though, and we should be thankful for that.

  • Square One. It's not a number... it's a NUMERAL.

  • this show made me excel early on in school. I never missed an episode!! I remember mathman (like pac man). fun stuff!!

  • Ya know, it's funny I have no recollection of anything that happened on this show other than Mathnet, and I used to watch it every time it was on.

  • @katch320 I think the name of the character you are thing of was slim goodbody???

  • @blchapman14 Thank you! :-)

  • Memories!

  • @andrewclunn Would you happen to know the name of the show on pbs that came on either before or after Newton's Apple. All I remember is that it was with a guy who I think wore this like skeletal body suit and he emphasized good health and fitness. That's all I can remember about that show. :-)

  • @katch320 It was Slim Goodbody!

  • @McBuckable Yes, thank you! :-)

  • @katch320 YES! I remember that show, too!!!! It used to creep me out. I can't remember what it was called though.

  • Wow, total flashback to my childhood...I used to watch this show all the time.

This theme song was catchy...no better way to get a kid's attention than with a good theme :)

  • i want to buy my daughter these shows.. anyone know where these shows can be purchased? Square one, Bill Nye, 321 Contact, Newtons apple.. etc.

  • @ricoswerve1260 Try getting a hold of your PBS affiliate. They might point you in the right direction

  • @ricoswerve1260 I saw where you can buy these someplace but forgot where I saw it. I will research it for you and see where.

  • @rbsvy91368 Awesome! Any help would be helpful :o)

  • You're right @andrewclunn! Television needs to go back to the way it was back in the 80's. Instead of all this bullshyt like iCarly and crap like that, they need to bring back shows we grew up on. I miss Square One, Doug, Punky Brewster, Reading Rainbow, Small Wonder,The facts of Life, 227, GI Joe, Jem, He-Man, She-ra, the list goes on. And it takes me back too. And who could forget I Love Lucy. Yeah, that was before my time but who cares! It was still good, wholesome tv.

  • Square One Tv has taugt me all about math, Zoobilee Zoo, Shining Time Station has taugt me about being kind to others, Newton's Apple, and Bill Nye The Sciance Guy has taught me about sciance, Reading Rainbow, Once Upon A Time, Storytime, and Storylords has taugt me to read books, and also Where in the world is carmen sandiego has taught me about geography. I sure Miss Old PBS Shows like this one.

  • Ok I dont feel as much as a geek for liking Mathnet now. lol I am not alone. lol

  • damn i forgot everything square one taught me (sighs) i miss the good ol days

  • Square one was nostalgic. Cyberchase is up to date.

  • holy shit its a cum shot of nostalgia! mathnet was the shit

  • i miss this show

  • Did anyone else think they said 'marijuana' at 0:00?

  • What a great show!

  • I love this show so much growing up I watched when we went on vacation LOL

  • Mathnet was the only reason that I watched this show!

  • ha i used to love mathnet..

  • Mathnet. Where the problems are real, but the names are made up.

  • I remember this show! lol

  • OMG mathnet!? HAHAHAH, use to love that show on square one!

  • Hated math but loved this show! Math Man and Mathnet!

  • Ok, so I'm 30 today and I'm just realizing how weird it is that a show for kids has friggin' 9 30 year olds in the cast, and that was it. There was probably a lot of innuendo going on that I didn't even pick up on!

  • yo thumbs up me if you think the sax solo in the song sounds like a ripoff of saturday night live!!!!!!

  • love this show hate that guy that played querns on hbos oz lol and dirty on pooty tang

  • Anyone else notice how much this sounds like the opening to Saturday Night Live, especially after 0:16?

  • @4u2cre8 someone said that a whuile back lol and it does

  • @4u2cre8 Friend of mine has said that Square One is like a math-based Saturday Night Live knock-off...

  • i love this show soooo much so much memories

  • I wished that DVD Recorder was invented in the late 80s cos I would definitely record these show if I know it will end one day.Nowadays there are a lot of garbage children show just like Naruto which is nothing compared to Square One and I don't believed that trash like that "loud-mouth" uncouth creature is still showing and people are still watching it like a porn while world-class show like square one ended, I guess it is really an third-class Tom,Dick and Harry era now.

  • At :21 you can see something that *looks* like Mathman, but the characters look different. Does anyone know where this was from (perhaps from a pilot version of the show)?

  • OMG!!!! I loved this show so much when I was small!!! Thanks for posting this up!!!

  • Wow, That was my favorite YV Show. Watched it all the time after School.

  • It's really a tragedy that there are not enough educational shows like this or 3-2-1 Contact - yes I know they're outdated but the concept of making learning fun isn't for many. Instead we have all these "reality" shows that focused on doing anything/everything for money or status. PBS does still maintain SOME shows that are educational but they're value driven moreso than say mathematical skills. Last one I remember was the animated series CyberChase, nothing much since.

  • 9,9,9 fantastic number 9, times any number you can find, it all comes back to 9

  • was that MARCY DARCY @ 0:25

  • Hate math. Loved this show.

  • DAMN IM ACTUALLY TEARING UP I WOULD GET OFF THE SCHOOL BUS IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE RUN AS FAST AS I COULD UP THE DRIVE WAY IN THE HOUSE TO THE ROOM AND WHEN I TURNED ON THE T.V. IT WAS PERFECT TIMING I ALWAYS CAUGHT THE THEME SONG

  • Look at the lizard and that blue thing in Mathman.

  • ahhhhhhhhh

  • NIGHTMARES.

  • Ever notice everything Square One had to do was connected to University of Michigan? Segments of Dirk Niblick and Mathnet? Mathman's helmet? A millions/billions/trillions segment inside Michigan Stadium? Not to mention the show's creators are both graduates of Big Blue itself?

  • the lady at :28 is did she go on to star on mad tv ?

  • The music reminds me of the old SNL intro

  • god i miss this show and other old pbs shows.

  • I HAD REMEMBERED THIS SHOW LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY.

  • Mathnet was my farvorite part. Loved this show!!

  • Thumbs up if you saw the black guy in the beginning on THE WIRE.

  • For some reason, I remember watching this as a child. If it was in the late 80's/early 90's I probably did watch it being that I was born in '81 and watched PBS even when Ghostwriter came on in my teen years.

  • squaaaaaaare ONE!!

  • MATHMAN!! lmao

  • I loved the dragnet guys and the math pacman.

  • the nostalgia hurts

  • Holy crap I remember this show.

  • I've never been good at math, but I remember LOVING this show when I was a kid!

  • i still think it would be awesome if the cast of "Square One Tv" (that is if they're still around or even alive) would be the guest hosts of wwe raw?.

  • I learned alot from watching shows like this as a child...I loved learning from this..I'm about to watch the Mathematics of Love for old time sake.

  • I can't believe you guys got me again. I just saw the opening theme song to 3, 2, 1 Contact and now Square One! This was like Saturday Night Live for nerds like us! What up to all the MathNet Agents!

  • Man, these were the good ole days!

  • Wouldn't It Be Awesome If The Cast Of "Square One TV" (that is if they're still around or alive) Would Be The Guest Hosts Of "WWE RAW"?.

  • Gosh!I remember watching this! Back when TV was worth watching and the internet didn't rot my brain...Sigh, can the kids of today please have awesome TV shows? It must suck to come home from school and watch endless judge shows, maury, tyra and whatever crap is on!

  • Another favorite PBS show of mine. at the time PBS was all that I'd watch b/c the other choice was soaps.

  • How can I buy tv series like these? I want to buy this, 321 contact, bill nye, etc. They dont have things like this on TV anymore.. anyone know where I should look?

  • @andrewclunn Amen to that, brother!

  • @andrewclunn Amen!!!! And bring back more of the eighties shows like The Facts of Life, Small Wonder, Punky Brewster, etc. These take me back to childhood when I was young and innocent and had no responsibilities.

  • @andrewclunn I watched this after school back in 1986/87. Loved it. Miss the show. I grew up with lots of 80's programs. Miss them too. Loved the 1970's shows. I didn't watch shows back in the 90's or 2000's because television was becoming boring and uninteresting. I loved PBS back in the 1980's. Grew up with Sesame Street,Villa Alegre, Mister Rogers Neighborhood, etc. Wonderful and there was much better support. Now Congress wants to cut off PBS. .

  • @andrewclunn I agree!!!

  • @andrewclunn yes it would be, don't forget Mr Rogers he was great too he also taught us a'lot, i even watched video music box during the late 80's/90's
