  • Fuck STi, Who would wanna go faster than 155 anyways?

  • thats amazing still getting 12.0 mpg at 155mph :D

  • STI DOSE 165

  • lol limited to 155 :p

  • ITs the Autobahn!!! Where You Can go as FAST as you want!!!

  • I am curious how fast it would go if it was not electronically governed ...

  • @goborisgo they limit it because the tires r rated for like 159mph.. it would be more expensive if they removed the limiter.. then u need 186mph tires.. and usually those who have the 155mph models rn't racing enthusiast.. so their customer will die and they will lose sales.. with the 200mph models those who r really wealthy r usually racing enthusiast so speeds greater than 155mph.. shouldn't be a problem

  • 250 km/h at 5300 rpm :O , what about those 2000 rpm ?

  • @FloNWfan21 this video is showing the factory 155mph governor kicking in and not allowing you to go any faster. If removed I do believe even bone stock this car could hit redline in top 6th gear, Dunno what speed that would be exactly probably 165-170, just a wild guess.

  • I drove that fast in my 323i 150 mph( Dinan) in 2000. Drove 145mph in the 2007 335i and 155 in the 2010 M3 E90. I only did it for a few seconds and slowed down so I don't go to jail or have some one call 911 on me. But I was just thinking about the new Bugatti Veyron doing 268mph. To do that you would have to take Xanax or Valium to calm down so your adrenaline doesn't make your heart go over 180 beats per minute. 155 is really fast as it is, I just can't imagine what balls it take to do 268 !!!

  • looks like fun!

  • I don't know why people are debating MPG in comments on this video. It's not like he's worried about it going at top speed.

  • You probably didn't even feel it! BMW is a good car and body roll is excellently maintained! You can do 100mph and it feels like 60mph. This probably felt like 90mph!

  • So, at the second highest gear as it was accelerating to 141 mph, it was getting 6 mpg. Then, when the tranny changed to the highest gear after going faster than 141 mph, the gas mileage improved to 13 mpg. Therefore, just because you travel faster doesn't always mean you're wasting gas/hurting the environment, it's the switching gears and RPM that decide. That is why there can be proof putting a speed limit on the German autobahn may not have the improved desired environmental effects.

  • @unknownunknowns Remember the British gallon is bigger than the US gallon.

  • @fixthatmotordotcom I forgot to factor that in but do you know that it's the British gallon? I ask because BMW has the European Delivery Program for Americans, too, and they can drive them on the autobahn.

  • @unknownunknowns This car can easily do 25-30 mpg when it's driven economical between 70-80 mph with cruise control. Driving 160 mph is always a waste of gas and even a safety risk when americans come here and drive with 160 mph although they don't have any driving practice at high speeds.

But sometimes when the lanes are vacant I do it too and it's pretty fun :)

  • @187Adrian187

On highway trips going 500 miles or so I get about 22 MPG, and that's driving normally with no fuel economy in mind.

during normal everyday driving I get around 17 MPG.

  • 6.0 mpg! O.o lol

  • Wow it's gliding like an airplane. I had a 08' 335i coupe space metallic gray and have a 2011 335i coupe on order set to arrive in April. Looking forward to the thrill again. Until then In a BMW Loaner car.

  • REALLY......just put it in 6th and floor it? you should have started in 3rd.....

  • what does ED stand for?

  • European Delivery

  • @goborisgo what's the difference?

  • @GeorgeLIMB dont you need viagra for ED

  • @GeorgeLIMB Efficient Dynamics

  • is this the new edition with the double clunch gearbox???

  • Note 12 mpg at peak :-)

  • @goborisgo

    12 MPG at 155 mph, O.O

70% of american cars doing 12MPG as city driving

What I can say more, it's Germans

  • @goborisgo that is great cause my lifted truck averages about 11.5. When going uphill on 1st im in the single digits lol

  • @goborisgo i get 12mpg in city with my 4.6 X5. haha and he got it at 150mph

  • @goborisgo that's not too bad considering the load on it. My GTO gets in the 4-6 range during WOT and it'll barely out run the my 335 until faster speeds.

  • @1cartwomany I did a top speed run in my GS300 and my comp said i was getting 3 mpg. All from a 3.0 turbo I6

  • Note the 12 at peek though :-)

  • @goborisgo 3 seconds = a mile

do the math ur saving money ^_^

  • @corillo145 60mph = 88fps, 155mph = about 260fps, theres 5280ft in a statue mile...actually closer to a mile every 20 seconds ... just saying :)

  • @goborisgo dude what do u mean 12 mpg at peak? i dont know very well english

  • very good 6.0 miles to the gallon haha send this to ken livingston

  • It may not be very acurate but still very close to 155.

  • طرقهم فلة

  • هذا مجنون ... بس السيارة مغرية

  • what the hell

i can't do it in road with 2 SIDES !!!!!

  • 155 255kmh mph is the limiter for BMWs.

ever hear of analog speedometer accuracy?

  • Comment removed

  • He did ED (eurpoean delivery) which means you get the US car in Germany and get to play with it then they ship it to you. That's why it has a MPH instead of a KPH gauge.

  • The sport package increases the maximum speed limitation.

This is awesome. The single reason I really dislike the United States (I'm a citizen) is because our roads are complete garbage.

  • i found out that the faster you go in a bmw the smoother it rides =P

  • god, I miss Germany!!

  • Great video!

  • without dat stupid limiter dat thing will do well over 160! can it be removed?

  • i believe it can wit some kind of tune...

  • Yes, it can.

  • i have a 330ci sport & after this video i want a 335i.

  • sorry to rain on your parade buy my friend has the same car and limiter on that is 152 not 155

  • LOL at the mpg reading traveling at 155 mph... "11.7 MPG" lol

  • thats pretty good if you think about it, the c63 amg gets 12mpg city.

  • ive got a 320d and doin a 140 its down to abowt the same

  • did you do the european delivery? it's a USDM car right with the mph instead of kph?

  • I believe it has both.

  • I like how in Germany some ppl will actually get out of your way. The moron drivers in the US jump in front of you to slow you down.

  • some americans are total jackasses...nuff said.

  • What do you mean "some"! LOL

  • @nepenthean They just need to change some driving rules. Make them similar to the Autobahn. But you'll never see that happen. Don't understand why we love buying 500 HP cars in the US, but don't change the laws to use that power on the public highways.

  • @Plague60 its the law in germany bmw mercedez benz and porsche have the right of way so you have to pull to the ride lane.

  • @Plague60 true, but not just germany my good friend, all of europe highways are like that. thats how they are thought when getting thier lisences..

  • @Plague60 So true I hate that. I can't wait until I move back to Stuttgart.

  • @Plague60 Because on the Autobahn you will get a ticket if you don't change lanes. And you can't pass on the the right, only far left lane. In the US you can pass on any lane.

But then, usually 10 mph over the limit will get you a ticket.

  • @viggoM35 Yup, that's right. They actually enforce their left lane hogging traffic laws, unlike the US. For some reason the people in the US think the left lane is the "Fast lane" not the passing lane and tend to think they have the right to be in the left lane if they are going the speed limit. Sad but true.

  • @Plague60 ...and they'll argue this point to their demise. Just a simple lane change would save all the grief. I generally drive 5 mph over the limit if someone wants to go faster I change to the number 2 lane then go back once the faster cars have past. If I see someone fast approaching in my rear view I change lanes also. Too many self righteous A holes out there that think they own the #1 lane if they're going the posted limit. Even the highway patrol will tell you the same thing.

  • @Plague60

Totally agree, it's like in u.s people get jealous if your car is fast and want to go infront of you, even though they are going the same speed as people in the right lane.

  • @Plague60 I know. It's so frustrating when they do that. They see u driving fast and want to jump in front of u. WTF. 335i owner and like my adult toy!

  • @Plague60 yeah i was in germany last summer, my uncle has a e46 m3 over there, and we were just speeding, and everyone gets out the way.

  • @Plague60 That's when the breakdown lane comes in handy.

  • @Plague60 I'm born and raised in America and this is just one reason why I think Europe outdoes America

  • Comment removed

  • i love how after a few seconds of the car being at top speed it bumps the rpm's down to like 5,250. that just shows how much more speed the engine is capable of handling

  • so torn 135i or 335i

  • hit the limiter

  • can i ask...who was filming...? the driver or a passenger? lol

  • passenger !!!

  • LOL you need to break the car in first.

  • Dont BMW engines come broken in?

  • How would it be broken in already? No it does not. I have purchased 3 new BMW's and have always broken them in. Infact they tell you to try and not go past 4k rpms for the first 1500 miles then you go back in for service.

  • bmw dealer told my dad they didnt "need" to be teased up the rev range, but it would help...

im torn between the "drive it like you stole it" method, and the "keep her below 4000" method lol

  • "keep her below 4000" method, always safe bet!!! Here in Germany same thing, and you can take a look around they will last forever if you treat it properly!

  • Nope since i work for bmw i get to break them in.:)

  • Awesome Video! I should have done ED with my 328i. Damn.. I'll def consider this for my next beemer! Thanks!

    And to dmkaldas, LOL!!

  • I'm driving straight to Paris. Almost entirely highways.....which isn't a great engine break in, but I'm sure the car can handle it.

  • Can't wait to do that on my ED trip in November!

  • You will enjoy it. Try to stay away from rural areas. Many speed limits and lots of trafic.

  • Do you mean urban instead of rural? Looks like you had a blast. I noticed a slower car move to the right to get out of your way - what a novel concept!

  • Yes Sorry. I meant to say to stay away from Urban but stay in rural. And yes most of them move out of your way, although you still need to be careful.

  • @kevbh0406 I think its a nice thing too do.

Ill probably never see that happen since I live in NY lol

  • FASTER FASTER!!!!
