@Heptkaidekaphiliac It works on organize it just can't maim, kill, or harm them in any way. And that's just in the new series. Tom Baker once used it to kill Daleks by pitting it against their domes. It's always been used on organics. And you can't blame Moffat for the medical scan thing since the ninth doctor used his as a medical scanner in "The Empty Child"

Most people who view this vid are Nuvians though, who couldn't care less about the original series anyway.

@kuchkat1 To state the obvious, the name of the vid is: Doctor Who's Top 11 Sonic Screwdriver Scenes. Not: The 11th Dr's Top 11 Magic Wand scenes. The title is deliberately deceptive. It tries to make it seem more special than it is. All it is are just some clips of the sonic from 2010-2011.
