actually jailbreak allows you to use custom apps that aren't from the app store.

I NEED HELP! I keep getting the same message everytime i try to restore my iphone. i have followed all the steps and its just not working. The only thing that i am doubtful about is the 3rd step on this video, i have to 2.0 on my iphone but i have no idea where to find it, so i just looked on google for it and found a file that said iphone2.0firmware.ipsw but im not sure if that could cause the problem. please email back, THANKS!!

did you pressed shift then click restore and find the file?

if you have windows vista go on your user folder and find appdata (its hidden) then Roaming then apple computer then itunes finally ipod software updates (dunno it moght say iphone software updates not really sure :)
