  • You my dear are awesome

  • great video! over 4 years old and still the #1 search result for "resin kit tutorial"

    thanks for sharing!

  • Holy unicorns, Batman! It's a girl who's into anime figures that isn't a landwhale!

  • Speaking of resin kits, do you have any B-Club Gundam resin kits?

  • Must admit,,I can relate to the loving the airbrush comment,,,I love my awata too,,but have a great fondness for my self healing cutting mat also,,, great vids ,,just subscribed,,lots of respect from England

  • THANK THANK YOU THANK YOU

  • Thanks for doing this! I always wanted to paint these items, but I have no clue where to start, lol.

  • Hey Daniel18Tupa

I actually got away with a compressor that I picked up from walmart for i think 80 bucks. I only do airbrushing for big surfaces so i didn't need a big range of air compression. It worked for me anyways!

I get my resin from E2046.com. Its affordable and usually really good casts.

  • Hey your video ispired me to start painting my own figures for now on LOVE your vids. I had one question though is it necessary to buy a expensive compressor? or can I get away with a cheap one?

  • ...

  • what kind of resine do you use or where can i buy it, cause i would love ot know XD

  • @5:55

Maybe its' because I have kids but @ 5:55 I want to say:

"NO! ALWAYS CUT *AWAY* FROM YOURSELF" >:o

:D Top snotch videos! You are a paradigm of geekychic.

  • Thanks for the tutorials. I just bought a resin kit and since this is my first one, Im going to use alot of the info on your videos. I like that display case too. Ill have to check it out at Ikea.

  • Thanks for the videos! You are so cute and beautiful too :-)

I am gonna watch them cuz I am buying a Grendizer garage kit soon and I wanna learn how to do it right.

  • I'm just starting my very first resin kit so I decided to watch a few video tutorials first. This is great :)

  • Hi, I took your advice and used bondo auto-body glazing filler; works awsome and sovlved a lot of long-term problems that have plagued me since I've been modelling. As for the cost, believe me these are only one time, up fron,t start-up costs-for example your airbrush and compressor will last for many years. Thanks for the bavery to produce a rocking tutorial.

  • What is the exact name of the red putty tube? I can't find it on the internet.

    thx

  • @planetofpoo the brand name really is bando u can get at walmart i got mine at autozone

  • what kind of airbrush should i use (co2 or compressor) ?

  • Do anyone know where i can buy an airbrush... Please, Thank`s :D

  • OMGness I think I'm inlove...with knowledge of resin kits!

  • this will help me alot for my ezio costume thanks

  • lol prinny

  • Thanks for the tutorial. It's always something I've been interested in trying.

  • Thanks for the tutorial! Subscribed

  • I spent hours on the e2046 trying to learn what you you explained in 8 minutes! Your awesome!

  • I'm a beginner and am working on my first kit. When I filed and then sanded it (using a sanding block), the resin dust went everywhere. But I mainly wore a mask, is this suffcient protection? Or should I use sand paper next time?

  • yeah a dust mask should be fine, you can also use a bit of water on your wet and dry to contain the dust, but it does make a bit of a slurry, just wipe it with a cloth

  • it really looks like fun hobby^^

  • (good looking) Women into craft modeling are too hard to come by...I need to find me one instead of the ones into the same old girly shit.

  • nice video and steups were very clear

  • OH, Where on earth did you find your Battle Athletes kit i saw in your display case?? I've been looking for one of those for years!!

  • Thanks for great video !!!

  • PRINNY!!!^_^

  • great series. I love the video component that illustrates what I have read over the years. Each person does things a bit differently and I learned a lot from just your perspective. Thanks so much!

  • wow, M Candy is such a fox! down to the fingernails...

  • whoa, thank you for this tutorial video. I've had an unfinished resin kit for a long time because I didn't even know how to get started. I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought it. Your vid helps out tons.

  • Wow, great video. :) Cool to see a fellow resin kit builder here on YouTube.

  • So far just the airbrush (Iwata Micron knock off version from Vulcan Airbrush) and compressor cost me $300... probably another $150-$250 will be spent, excluding the kits... x_x

  • It's definitely a hobby that does not go easy on the pocket. In total I've spent probably a good 5 g's and so far I only have 8 kits fully made lol

  • Yeah... thing aren't cheap anymore. My friend started resin/vinyl/plamo since he was around 13 now 23, the equipment price multiplied as well as materials and kits since then. Although the qualities are much much better. From my point of view, he's a hardcore fan/hobbyist, but seeing him flinch his eyes looking at the price of the replacement equipments and new kits is just hilarious to watch lol.

  • @SinnerJ Hi! I am new to garage kits, so I wish to to which is better polyurethane resin or polyester resin? Thank you.

  • @VanDammedia Mmm... sorry I don't know how to help you with that one. I usually just buy the kits online. They don't really specify what kind of resin they are. I'm not quite sure what kind of garage kits you are looking for, but I usually buy my kits from Hobbyfan.com. They have huge selections, but one problem that I have with them is that, some kits are out of stock and they only stock them again, if they get 10 requests of the kit. Ah and they sell recasts. But high quality.

  • @SinnerJ Thanks a lot for the info!

An eBay seller told me that polyurethane is better than polyester. I think he is right according to what I read.

  • @SinnerJ I am new to garage kits! Can I paint the resin kit with ceramic colors or what?

  • This is an expensive hobby lol. If anyone wants to get into this, better have a job or have some kind of income source. I've been practicing building some from my friend's garage and as I got deeper into it, it was pretty addicting experience. Probably because I like modeling generally, not to mention being "half" otaku. Can't keep borrowing friend's garage and his equipments so getting my supplies ready soon and making work station.

  • wow.so much stuff, but theres a lot of resin kits out there and theres one I have found on yahoo japan that I really like but can you tell me if you really need all this stuff?

  • Most o the stuff there is for painting the cast model, to cast all you need is the resin, the mold, some pots and measuring jugs and a stick or somthing to stir it up...

  • umm where you get the pins????

  • Lol you much cuter than the kit

  • i`m an avid model maker, but this is the 1st time ive heard a girl talk about model making/supplies etc.

And sorry but its like porn to me :P

I`m from the Netherlands, and ive never even seen a female displaying A model.. let alone be a fanatical model maker :)

    Kudos!

  • I'd love to get into this but too much hassel it seems

  • so, do you sand the WHOLE piece or just the parts where you clipped something off and want to smooth it.

BTW, i know all about how difficult it is to keep up with doing stuff for people like this over the internet. i totally appreciate your help!! thankx ;)

  • ilove your works!!

  • what others paints do you recommend or where can I find the ones you use? Also I was wondering where you got that Prinny from. (penguin from Disgaea anime) its cute.

  • very nice job, keep up the vids. E2046 is the best

  • try going to hobbyfan site, they have some cheap kit for only 20$

  • wow cute girl building cute things... cute :)

  • cute tutorial. ^_^ I'm a girl that does resin kits too. Not a lot of us. Do you go on E2046. com?

  • Indeed I do!

I've been on there for about 2 years now. I don't post as often anymore but my user name is m_candy.

  • a girl modeling kits!now that is awesome

  • great video keep it up but I have a question since Im a newbi also explain the reason for keeping the jelly from the putty rlabiche

  • Hey! The reason for the jelly is explained in part 3.

It's just so the putty doesn't stick to one side of the resin.

  • Im sorry may be I asked the the question wrong I thought the putty you used was to hold the the parts together for good permient, maybeI should waite for you to finish your tutorial-rlabiiche

  • Nice tutorial. Even though i dont build figure kits, this will help me in the future with some resin kits. Also, its the hottest thing to see a girl who knows how to do this type of hobby!

  • Thanks VERY much for this tutorial, very helpful :)

Nice choice of a model, too. Etna is awesome.

  • wow great tutorial!

how long do you build garage kits?

  • I have been building for about 2 years... I have made around 10 completed kits so far (like 20 that I have started but not finished lol)

  • oh cool XD

I'd like to start now and i have one garage kit but it's too difficult for the beginning, so i brought 3 other kits and now i have to wait untill i finished the deferred payment ^^ (sorry for my bad english but i'm from germany ^^)

do you have icq? maybe we can talk a bit about our hobby ^^ but just if you want to lol

  • ^_^ Thank you so much for posting these! They will really come in handy. *suggles first resin kit*

  • Hey M_Candy this is a great video. Thanks for making this. I was just looking for something like this a few days ago since I'm new to building kits. I searched resin kits but couldn't find anything good. You should put Resin Kit in the tags rather than GK so that more people can find this video.

    P.S. your are a babe :)

  • yerp M_Candy is hoooot lol
