  • Oh and there is two sauces that I recomend and usually have them both drizzled over sushi enjoy ^^

    1. Dynamite sauce - Mix mayo and Sriracha hot sauce put in squeeze bottles, adjust how hot you want it though

    2. Eel sauce - 1/2 cup mirin, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup sugar , simmer ingredients in a sauce pan till reduced 3/4 of a cup refrigerate till cold

    I tend to go a little heavy on the wasabi, so it's often a laughable situation. I have a vid called "Super China Buffet" where I slightly mismanage my wasabi.

    yes, the sticky white rice is gooooood :^)....this particular method is a sticky alternative if you'd like to use whole grain brown rice

    it's even easier...I sometimes make it harder than it needs to be by rolling up too many ingredients, but that's the way I like it :^)

    Love your vid, it motivated me, but I used 3 tablespoons of sugar for 1 deciliter ( or 3.3418 Fluid Ounces ) of apple vinegar + a few pinches of salt for taste.

    Won't it taste of too much vinegar if you dont add sugar ?

    I haven't added sugar to the vinegar. The amount used can be adjusted to taste, or rice vinegar used instead, which I find has less of a bite. The vinegar enhances the stickiness of the rice, which is needed since I use the short grain brown rice instead of the usual white sushi rice. A little sugar and even white rice sound pretty good to me, but I lean toward the healthier ingredients when preparing sushi since it makes me feel a little less guilty about all the cookies I eat

  • I've only had sushi once. It was vegetarian so I'm not sure if it's called something different, but it was delicious, and it actually made me feel a bit cultured. That is until I just now realized the place mats I had years ago were actually sushi rollers.

  • Crazy thought but there's a parasite that lives in raw fish I saw it on Monsters Inside me

    There was a study that showed %100 of wild caught salmon had a roundworm larva in their flesh. The type that might infect humans. They also did a study on farm raise fish that didn't have these parasites. So I would check to see where the fish came from. Its something to think about next time you run out to eat and stuff

    The way my momma raised me makes it hard for me to enjoy sushi grade fish. Luckily, not all sushi involves raw fish, although that is often what pops to mind when contemplating the dish. I've cooked for restaurants, but any dingbat can write "chef" on a resume, and many do. To my mind, a person who routinely experiments in the kitchen, orchestrates meals, and prepares dishes is a chef...the 1st key step is cutting your microwave use down to about 3%.

  • im not a fan of sushi but yummmm asparagus in sushi..sounds good. but my thing with fish is...i need to have a few drinks in order to try sushi (or any kinda fish for that matter) i want to see camera girl!!!!

    yeah...I'm not a fan "sashimi" which is specifically raw fish, but I love the maki sushi (in which you can certainly use raw fish). I sometimes use cooked fish, shrimp, or crab in my rolls, but often it is only vegetables, and occasionally with cream cheese. Camera Girl is not generally a big fan of being on camera, but she is my old vid "Death and Gambling"

  • I made Sushi once for a friend of mine who was from Japan. He at it and kept grimacing allot, so I asked him if it was all right he said, "rov crourse" "I donut fell sro grood toray" When he finished, and was leaving he said he felt like Seppuku . I told him I would fix that for him next time, send me the recipe. You know I never heard from him again. Silly Japanese they hate to inconvenience people.

    it's twice as easy as it looks in the video...I recommend the short grain brown rice 'cause it's healthier than going the white rice route...I had a mango and almost sliced some of that up...I love the versatility of maki sushi.
