i saw her live she as giving a speech adn i talked to her and he said hey had a bidget on this song so she used he friends in the clapping scene when she walks down teh street and the guys are from a diffrent gang but they are also friends.

This whole video with her breaking down the stereotypes is important. She rapping about something she feels passionate about that she has to let the masses know about in a creative way! I got to say she really put together something awesome here! Too cool. :) I hope some of her future videos she raps about past experiences from her own life that really inspired her. Like how 2Pac did that song Dear Mama for his mom. That was a strong song & video. I hope Masia does something like that soon.

You seem very motivated, very outgoing and nice but... you just can't rap. You can't even play your video and then play a real hip hop or rap video. You don't even compare...you're in the same category as Classified and he has never made it because he is not a good rapper. I associate rappers with black America and it is even harder for someone white or asian to make it. Eminem is the only one.
Hip Hop should be boundless, a loose criteria to allow artists to experiment around and do what they want with. Masia One is a good example of this. All styles of music allow exploration so why conform to a stereotypical hip hop image just to please the purists and make a quick buck? Where's the expression in that? Isn't that supposed to be the essence of hip hop, lyrical expression?
Music shouldn't bend to fit your rules, so stop being such a purist and grow a pair of balls. And a soul.

This video was filmed 5 years ago. The producer took my money and ran off. As a result I ended up co producing the video, having never done that before! I know there were many things that could be improved on this video shoot - but at the end of the day i'm happy that it was pulled off on no budget and no sleep and that it was nominated for an MMVA making it the first time a female has been nominated in the category of Hiphop. I dont do this for the haters - i do this because JAH guide.
This is a good song with a decent beat, but her "rap hands" needs work, she's wavin way too much, she is cute I'll give you that, but honestly, the video needs a huge make-over.

This whole video with her breaking down the stereotypes is important. She rapping about something she feels passionate about that she has to let the masses know about in a creative way! I got to say she really put together something awesome here! Too cool. :) I hope some of her future videos she raps about past experiences from her own life that really inspired her. Like how 2Pac did that song Dear Mama for his mom. That was a strong song & video. I hope Masia does something like that soon.

You don't even compare...you're in the same category as Classified and he has never made it because he is not a good rapper. Hip Hop should be boundless, a loose criteria to allow artists to experiment around and do what they want with. Masia One is a good example of this. All styles of music allow exploration so why conform to a stereotypical hip hop image just to please the purists and make a quick buck? Where's the expression in that? Isn't that supposed to be the essence of hip hop, lyrical expression?
Music shouldn't bend to fit your rules, so stop being such a purist and grow a pair of balls. And a soul.

Record labels are about numbers and dollars. There is no one to compare me to (in terms of marketing and record sales) - and i'm not rhyming in a bikini. These things make it difficult to be signed to a major. I enjoy the freedom of being indie.

I second that! If she signed onto Capitol Records or Columbia Records or something like that she could really expand her market! It would be so awesome to see one of her videos on VH1 or BET in the Hip-Hop countdown cuz of her skill and what she has to say. That is what should matter, not just portraying a certain image of what the rap corporation industry THINKS the customers WANT to HEAR! Well I just hope you do bring your act to the U.S. one day! I mean it would be cool to see some of your videos on tv and some of your albums but yeah I feel you on the individual creativity and not trying to fit a company's image. I think it is terrible that corporations and sponsors control who can and can't get screen time based on what their songs are about and how they look just to fit a traditional image. It should be wide open to everyone cuz we all humans and got things to say!

This video was filmed 5 years ago. The producer took my money and ran off. As a result I ended up co producing the video, having never done that before! I know there were many things that could be improved on this video shoot - but at the end of the day i'm happy that it was pulled off on no budget and no sleep and that it was nominated for an MMVA making it the first time a female has been nominated in the category of Hiphop. I dont do this for the haters - i do this because JAH guide.
