  • need the lyrics lol

  • u know the people who doing flps and stuff is call team ryouko

  • I LOVE YOU !

  • Surprised at the haters...no...not surprised. They have nothing better to do. I get what you were intending with the video Masia. I ran with a lot of asians when I was Bboying and DJing and my DJ (I MC too) was a Filipino cat (Shouts to DJ Forte) and we would build on topics of stereotypes of our races and cultures and on the misappropriation of the same and of Hiphop Culture by the main stream.

Keep opening eyes to the silly ways of the masses :) btw, Montreal in the Fall is the business!

  • damn .. this old school masia bumpin... watch out...

  • that shit was bangin yo!

  • listened to this song years ago,

    catchy still to this day.

  • Like lilnatashacutie says Masia one came to my school as well, so did this lady named Eternia. they are part of this global girl help team. it was awsome with LOTS of music!! :D

  • HAHAHA omgg i just noticed that

  • SHE WAS AT MY SCHOOL TODAY

    WITH ANOTHER B-GIRL AND

    GEOOORRGE NAZUKAA :p

    sickkkkk

    shes so chill

    laval liberty baaaby

  • i met her in real life'

she went to our school (nov.4,/08)

she seems to be very nice'..

you rock Masia, ur a role model

  • she came to my school to but same day? :S probly same school

  • do u go to LBP high?

  • no i go to symmes/darcy mcgee

  • @narutol0verr Role model for ...........? Goodwill ?

Come one. ROLE MODEL? are u kidding. well u did post that a year ago.. maybe you understand the meaning of a role model now ?

  • she came to my school today for like special workshop thing. I have to say that's the first time I heard of her. She's so unique and smart and her music is just awesome.

  • I don't care what nobody says! Masia One and Lil' Maxso rock! End of discussion. They got skillz and hopefully they'll only improve with time! Keep it going. Rap on! :)

  • she is sucha wannabe and blade4hero stop defendingher

  • a who wannabe? answer that then you'll make more sense

  • I wanna see Masia collaborate with Eve or Foxy Brown! She get together with those rappers or even Queen Latifah and you got something special, let me tell you! It would just be so awesome to see them 2 do a video.

  • i mean i understand u really like her. but being a true hip hop head everything about her is just so unimpressive. i can barely hear wat she says, when i do hear her im not impressed. i mean just to put it bluntly i feel like the ppl hoppin on her are asian and are only on her because shes the only asian female rapper ive ever seen, so im sure the same is true for many others.

but try to be objective, compare her to any1. name 1 rapper that isnt soulja boy that she sounds better than.

  • She beats the snot out of Lil' Wayne with his whining voice! That guy is like 33 years old and looks 45 on his mug shot, but his voice carries no strength to it. It sounds like he has a sore throat and needs some water to clear it up! I mean even Ice Cube (not to mention 2Pac) bring far more force and emphasis to their rhymes than Lil' Wayne. That's just how I feel though. Y'all stop bashing Masia. The girl got skillz okay in the same way Eve, Missy Elliott, & Lauryn Hill got serious rap skillz!

  • This video is the bomb! Hats off II Masia One a.k.a. Masiayn Limm cuz she got it going on!

  • FUCK YALL HATERS

  • ShadowGundam shut up u tlk way 2 much

feelin the vid Masia, do u break?

  • Ever heard of freedom of choice? So you hate her, so what? There are plenty of people who like her. Why waste so much energy on something you don't like...Just don't come here, don't view the video...go do something you like...God, people are so bizarre!

  • The video was meant to be a tongue in cheek commentary on Asia Stereotypes in mainstream media. I took all the stereotypes I could think of, and crammed it into 1 video, and sat back and watched how much airplay I could get out of it.

  • oh and i think u missed an asian stereotype. u missed the wannabe thug asian. and please dont misunderstand and think im trying to call u a wannabe thug asian, but i did notice its one thats not in the video.

  • @QUEENSCIENCE Okay, lemme get this straight...."how much airplay I could get out of it"? Do you speak english? Because in english, I does not mean the same thing as SHE. YOU are not Masia One, so YOU were not in this video. Get my drift?

  • @o0Affinity0o

QUEENSCIENCE is masia one smart ass.

  • @QUEENSCIENCE And we see how well that worked out. You spit nonsense. You hold a tight rhyme pattern, which is good, but you're just like lil wayne, talking about nothing.

  • @Sedrom lmao it's called LOW BUDGET VIDEO

  • I am an emcee, artist and entrepreneur. As you can see - you are commenting on my work. One Love.

  • i understand wat ur trying to do an all. i mean im not gonna hate on ur hustle but personally i think hip hop is saturated enough with wack rappers. sum1 put me into this video cause i have a thing for hot azn girls (and ill be the first to say ur pretty hot.) but as far as an emcee im sorry but ur way below par. im very critical of wat passes for hip hop and ur flow, ur lyrics, all of it needs tons of work.

  • Naw man, Masia rocks! She beat the pants off any rapper in the U.S. right now if she tried! She should collaborate with Queen Latifah, Foxy Brown, or Eve out here for a video shoot one day. That would be so awesome! I really hope she decides to bring her exposure to the U.S. one day even if she does remain an independent I think it would just add some real spice to the genre to have American audiences exposed to her style. She raps about stuff she is passionate about and that's important! :)

  • Dont even reply to the hate, because you're a dope mc, no doubt!

  • and her flow is garbage. shes forcing the words to fit. shes a garbage rapper with no lyrical skill.

  • horrible?! are you even listening?

  • yes i was listening. her rhymes are weak. shes got bad flow. shes not talking about anything. shes just another pop-y asian chick who thinks she can rap.

ur just on her shit cause shes asian too. how about u actually listen and tell me she says anything clever through her rhymes.

  • Yeah yeah, how do you even know i'm asian? The race of the person listenin to the song doesn't really have anything to do with it.

This is only one song, go listen to some of her others stuff and maybe you'll understand. After all, this song /does/ have some big words in it. >__>

  • i kno ur asian becase of ur icon. and race shouldnt have anything to do but obviously it does. ive heard her other songs and they're just as bad. shes simply a bad rapper she sucks. theres nothing special about her lyrics, any asian trying to rap could write this song.

  • "any asian trying to rap could write this song"? Again, race has nothing to do with this. Just cuz it's different from the mainstream crap that you listen to doesn't mean it isn't good. She's not a rapper, she's an emcee. Learn the difference..then start talking, otherwise it sounds like you're talkin outta your ass.

  • actually ur the 1 talking outta ur ass. i hate mainstream rap. i listen to udnerground ppl like talib kweli and immortal technique. rappers with real lyrical skill, unlike this chick. plz dont try to teach me about hip hop cause id school u kid.

  • Wow! You think she's ALL I listen to? I know immortal technique, I know jedi mind tricks. Don't call me kid, and don't call Masia garbage. For all you know, i could be listenin to the same things as you, and you'd just be callin yourself a kid. Masia can put more rhymes in a sentence, and still make sense, than you can in a paragraph. If your saying you can spit better rhymes, then why is she on youtube and not you?

  • maybe because im not a rapper genius. look, im not tryin to ur panties in a twist. u just gotta accept that this chick is trash. u listen to real hip hop and u think this girl is worth anything to hip hop? she sucks, her rhymes are garbage, hes flow is garbage, and shes not even talkin about anything in this song. shes crap

  • Kay, fine. I'll listen to what I want, and you do the same..i'm done with arguing..LOL especially on a stupid youtube comments board.

  • Hey, when I first found out about Masia I was looking for Asian-American rappers & singers and came across the Nerve commercial and this video Split Second Time and just wanna say they both awesome! I really hope she gets voted for some awards for her work soon cuz she really got lots of cool style & skill! One thing I found that I thought was so sad was all this stuff I was reading about corporations blocking Asian-American artists cuz they don't fit the image of the genre (black rap stars). :(

  • yeah no kidding eh, wtf are these people on?

  • watch the video my goal its a beuteful goal i have scored :D

  • She rocks.

Showing asian girl can rap haha!

  • i remember this from agessssssss ago

  • Seen this ages ago. Nice video, I don't mind watching it again.

What those guys do in the back is nothing.

I did the exact same thing yesterday. I fell off my bike.

Not on purpose, but it looked just as cool.

  • i challenge all of your warriors for a fight ,,if i win ,,i hope to go out to dinner with masia ,lol jk

    shes so beautiful,,

  • hi, Happywolf! i already won all of them, so she is busy tonight.

  • I met masia and she is soo nice

I also love this song <3

  • i saw her live she as giving a speech adn i talked to her and he said hey had a bidget on this song so she used he friends in the clapping scene when she walks down teh street and the guys are from a diffrent gang but they are also friends.

  • i met Masia One.

just watching this video makes me remember how she said she hated sterotypes on asian ppl. i love how down to earth she was. it just makes this video much more interesting knowing the reason why it was made like this. lovinn the songg too. not gonna lie :D

  • This whole video with her breaking down the stereotypes is important. She rapping about something she feels passionate about that she has to let the masses know about in a creative way! I got to say she really put together something awesome here! Too cool. :) I hope some of her future videos she raps about past experiences from her own life that really inspired her. Like how 2Pac did that song Dear Mama for his mom. That was a strong song & video. I hope Masia does something like that soon.

  • I still love this tune so much. It's so dope!

  • Masia One, really nice to hear quality. Now if you can only get them to play this heavy rotation on Flow 93.5 instead of the "other stuff"...

Also, if you want some Filipino martial arts flavour for your next vid, check out the JKD Family, as well as some other quality Kali/Eskrima places in TO.

Thanks for creating quality in Canada!

  • that twists some stereotypes up.

  • awesome...

  • Same, she was on that Echo show.

  • I saw this rapper on SUN tv. Great rap!

  • these guys from team ryouko are the best *g*

  • Off the chain! Masia got style! I wish she was doing her thing out here in the U.S. She would blow away the competition at the BET Music Awards and the Grammy Awards in the rap category without question and like Beyonce, she's hot!

  • I was researching Hip Hop in Singapore and that how I bumped into u!! I don't know how Singaporean ur but sure sounds good!! Keep up the Flow Yo!!

  • oh yeah! asian and in vancouver! i love vancouver!

  • That's Toronto.

Masia's from Missisauga, but I'm assuming the four other girls in the video are from Vancouver.

  • LOL...I'm not from Mississauga! I'm based in Toronto, and the first record was named Mississauga to thank all the people from Mississauga that helped me get it together. I was born in Singapore but grew up in Vancouver!

  • my bad, that was stupid of me

  • And you definitely got a lot of style! Keep it up, Masia! I just wish you was doing your thing here in the U.S. so I could see your videos on TV out here and listen to more of your songs! You would blow away the market out here if they gave you a shot!

  • yaaay!!!! i luv this mv

and masia i also luv ur mv for return of the b girl its awesome =P

    keep it up ^^

  • ahahah i love this song!!

and it ends on such a funny note "oh no she's been eating spinach" XD AWESOME -^^-

  • my gurl doing her thing

  • this girrlz got flow yo!! shyt keep goin hard nd youll be up there with Jin

  • singaporean...isn't one of the official languages english? how many can you speak queen?

  • Yeah yeah...English, Mandarin, French, a bit of Japanese and working on my Malay & Patois.

  • Oh, sorry! I didn't know we weren't allowed to share our opinions on the videos we see! Maybe you should write a disclaimer saying, 'Only people who like my music reply'.

  • Hilarious. Stay in school.

  • Hip Hop should be boundless, a loose criteria to allow artists to experiment around and do what they want with. Masia One is a good example of this. All styles of music allow exploration so why conform to a stereotypical hip hop image just to please the purists and make a quick buck? Where's the expression in that? Isn't that supposed to be the essence of hip hop, lyrical expression?

Music shouldn't bend to fit your rules, so stop being such a purist and grow a pair of balls. And a soul.

  • it's funny how the four chicks behind your back walking down the sidewalk screws up the clap part and looks at eachother if anyone else screwed up or noticed it (besides the tv viewers)

specifically the one's closest to the center

whatever that vid is OLD, it's just that this is the first time that i'm actually noticing some of this kind of stuff like the guy in the tuque looks "in the zone" like a power ranger

  • LMAO POWER RANGER!!. its so sad that canada has no music industry, america and almost every other country does except canada.

  • two words you fat

  • LOL.

  • Two more words: You PHAT!!!!

Holla at me, playa. Hatteurs can get the bozak.

    h

  • Masia One is way hot.

  • love your music. seriously, everyone i play it to thinks it's great.

  • wasting your talent

  • can someone tell me whos the artist.lol.

    but seriously can u?

    and yes im retarded

  • why dont you try to get signed to a record label?

  • Record labels are about numbers and dollars. There is no one to compare me to (in terms of marketing and record sales) - and i'm not rhyming in a bikini. These things make it difficult to be signed to a major. I enjoy the freedom of being indie.

  • i think if you get signed you can be big.. expecially in the american industry capitol hill records arent really agressive in how girls should look=)

  • I second that! If she signed onto Capitol Records or Columbia Records or something like that she could really expand her market! It would be so awesome to see one of her videos on VH1 or BET in the Hip-Hop countdown cuz of her skill and what she has to say. That is what should matter, not just portraying a certain image of what the rap corporation industry THINKS the customers WANT to HEAR! That is why so many talented singers don't get the chance they deserve like that rapper Jin from Florida!

  • yeah exactly. Jin is signed to a label in hong kong now=). o well i guess she doesnt want it that bad.

  • I mean really, it would be so awesome to see her go up on stage at the BET Music Awards and get a trophy for the rap category for one of her albums or see her earn a Grammy award for Best Female Rap Song! She would definitely put the heat on ANY rapper male or female in America. I mean she would literally eat Lil' Wayne up! That guy sounds like he got a sore throat on his songs, just listen to power 106! He don't bring no power behind his words. Masia whip any rapper out there! :)

  • Well I just hope you do bring your act to the U.S. one day! I mean it would be cool to see some of your videos on tv and some of your albums but yeah I feel you on the individual creativity and not trying to fit a company's image. I think it is terrible that corporations and sponsors control who can and can't get screen time based on what their songs are about and how they look just to fit a traditional image. It should be wide open to everyone cuz we all humans and got things to say!

  • Yo M,

It ain't that easy writing these here Haikus, especially in Hip Hop slang. Like, how many syllables are in "Fo'Sheezy" anyway?

    Holleur

    h

  • Yo M,

In honor of the new album, I've written you a new Haiku. All the hatteurs can get the bozak.

    Masia One is short

But she got skillz like Yao Ming

    Lets go for Dim Sum?

    Peace

    h

  • Sup' M,

You gotta lace me with some promo niceness when the new album drops, yo. I mean, c'mon, I wrote you a haiku. Hook a gwailo up.

    Peace

    h

  • So, I've written a Haiku dedicated to Masia, entitled "Mai-Jah, One-Love" & all the hatteurs can get the dillz.

    Masia drops science

    Sexy Asian with dope flow

    Rap hands are suspect

    Thank you

    h

  • You're HILARIOUS! Ok, new video is dropping in a week. Tell me if the rap hands have improved. It's more on a dancehall flex now.

  • This is a great vid, Maisa is very hot & it sounds like she's channeling Rakim circa '88.

    'Spect

    h

  • This video was filmed 5 years ago. The producer took my money and ran off. As a result I ended up co producing the video, having never done that before! I know there were many things that could be improved on this video shoot - but at the end of the day i'm happy that it was pulled off on no budget and no sleep and that it was nominated for an MMVA making it the first time a female has been nominated in the category of Hiphop. I dont do this for the haters - i do this because JAH guide.

  • wow that's cool!

  • No one can hatt on this video, yo. Rap hands are suspect, tho.

    holleur

    h

  • This is a good song with a decent beat, but her "rap hands" needs work, she's wavin way too much, she is cute I'll give you that, but honestly, the video needs a huge make-over.

  • good song? how is that at all a good song? you're just biased cuz shes a generica asian girl.

    song is very bland.

  • good song

  • Poohu, you fuckin' racist, you should get jumped, there's always one clown in the crowd.

  • Take a dip you racist little cretin!

  • Masia One is insanely hot, but she has to check her "Rap hands". I'm surprised she hasn't poked out someone's eye. For serious.

  • i cant believe people are hating on this. this is one of the illest videos ive seen and a really dope track.. keep it up masia.. - eyeris

  • rofl...

  • Keep it up sister!

  • love this song...has anyone here checked out masia one's website?i have and she's got a lot of good songs on there!:D

  • I hate the song, but the video is doing better (because of team Ryouko)

  • WTF is this?! Horrible! So glad they are not broadcasting this crap on the television network anymore.

  • Hah, wow I remember this nice video.

  • YEAH BOIIII

  • this is an awesome video... It could be the best Canadian Music video I've ever seen. It's really clever and different.

  • YAY T.R.!

  • god damn is she ugly. god bless her

  • you're a fag

    She's ill

  • if you say so buddy. take a nice look in the mirror before you ever consider calling another guy a fag you fucking fairy.

  • They don't even know what haterism is, they just dont have enough braincells for that.. Anyway, Masia rules n that's a fact.

  • LOL...

That is pretty vulgar. I dont really understand it tho. I guess i have to catch up on my readings for the language of haterism and the 15 year old boys that reinvent it.

  • how do we get from 'RO RYOUKO!!!'

to 'hey i got a idea go fucken stik a fucken knife in the plug while your jerking off' well that's love people, love for you tube

  • nice vid btw

  • niiiiiiicccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ^^

  • hey a wannabe nigger chink ahahhahahahahahah funny shit

  • wow. I dont know much about being a nigger or a chink, but Hiphop is where my heart.
