if you mean by demolish is removing the buildings look like above the graves then we just follow what the prophet's SAW said to his fellows when he told them to remove that so it won't be worshiped by the people who doesn't know that only Allah can provide help and answer the prayers of the ones in need. and its done out of respect to the dead so that they don't be blamed for the sins of who took them to the level of Allah
