its a mimosa. i have one. they are really cool. they do that so that if an animal is coming along, all they will get is a bunch of thorns. all you have to do is keep on petting it and the branches will fold down and reveal thorns. one time i was in carolina and met a few wild ones. not a good situation when you have shorts on! :(

technically that isn't moving(locomotion). it's just a physical response to a stimulant(touch, light intensity etc).
also, note the base of each stem is sort of swollen. that part is sort of like a 'brain' in mediating this response.
