It is not cheaper to make a v8 faster than a dsm to a CERTAIN POINT.. I have a 95 gsx and for 1000 dollars mainly most of the money for dsmlink im running 12's.. i had a 96 mustang gt as well and stock for stock the mustang was faster but modding the mustang is more money to get a 90's v8 into 12's you need a supercharger and a superchager kit alone is 3500+ dollars... not to mention all the supporting mods you would need as well which in total would be around 5000 dollars to get 12's..

A lot of the guys in this vid (at the track) have since moved on. Really brought back memories of the days when people who owned these cars were a great bunch of guys and friends. I see all this straight-4 vs. V-8, and I just have to say:

There is no replacement for displacement. Those 4g63's sing a great tune (I should know; I have one), but V8's virtually universally have more displacement, and therefore, (if properly engineered; US take note) have more power potential than just about any 4-cylinder.

But then, 'application' is just as big a factor. The Aerial Atom wouldn't be nearly as good with a V8, or even a V6 at that. Weight and balance would go to hell.
