Australia has a great medal tally from previous Olympics - lots of silvers and bronzes between 1964 and 2000. NZ has only won one medal and it was a Gold at Montreal when we beat the Aussies in the final. Germany pipped them to Gold too in 1992, so I'm sure this must have been very satisfying.
