I'm in NE Ohio, and had never been to Detroit until a few yrs ago, but I was a daily JP McCarthy listener for prob near 20 yrs. Even tho he's been gone since '95, I still miss him, and think about him, every morning.
I've never wavered from WJR's morning show since I discovered JP on JR around 1980.
kevin oneil from detroit has a very extensive record collection--- he is very knowledgable about the big songs and artists as well as the very very obscure artist/song !
@loungelizard5000 I would agree on that one! It was kind of weird when TV-62 became CBS, and people from other radio stations would give the "WGPR" Call Sign. Thanks to Mason WGPR is gradually getting back on its feet.
