  • This was soooo helpful. But I use reason for all my beats and I came to ableton to work on my timing cuz when I sample it's always off ... My question is after a sample is warped all I would have to do is export as a wav and use any reason to chop right ???

O and is this process also good for ableton live 7 ? Thank you !!

  • when i find a sample . and have the part looped that i want, how do i delete the rest of the song and just save the part that i have looped.. or does the whole track have to still sit in there?

  • This track is hot and your tutorials are very helpful. I'm sure I speak for a lot of viewers when I say "Thank You". Question: What drum rack are you using and where did you get it? Also, any suggestions on similar drum racks?

  • really nice tutorial dude! you helped me out alot! but, 1 question, could you tell me the sample you used at the beginning of this tutorial? sound like a really nice lounge song :)

  • How would you do something like this with classical music, that doesn't really have a specific beat that stands out? I'm trying to add pieces of orchestra to songs, so it sounds like it has backing strings.

  • well all music is gona have a specific beat, but in something like classical it may change. (not just a straight bpm) in something like that you're just gona have to be able to count out the measures and put your warp markers where you want them to be to get the sound you want. I've taken samples that were in 3/4 and warpped and chopped them to fit a 4/4 signiture. its very possible

  • shit man i need help. I actually AM a remixer, but i've always used Traktor. But i've switched over to Ableton and i'm having a HARD time.

How do you switch from an intro beat, and straight into another beat?

And the most important thing is, for example, i wanna use 2 different acapellas, one after the other. Like "Show Out" from dj unk and "Stanky Legg" from g spot boys. How can i do it? Cuz the way how i'm TRYING to do it is killin my ass. I ain't used to the whole cut and paste. Help! ha

  • great one this tut

  • Hi there some great ableton tips, smooth... One of the things I struggle with is getting base lines to sit with samples, do you have a standard bass sound you use? and do you use any special compression to get the bass to sit right in the trax. Would be great to hear any tips you have. Thanks....
