It is unfortunate that some of the posters on this site have no idea what this song means. In the bible when they use the word blood it refers to the word of God in other words are you washed in the word of God. I have been a born again Christian for 30 years and have never felt better and content
@cmcharlesmillar I have to say that the word Blood is often literal in the Bible. Our sins are washed by that blood just like the sins of the children of Israel were "covered" by the blood of the many sacrifices on the altar of the tabernacle. However the sacrifice made for us, the Lord Jesus on Calvary, was once for all forever. We may not be literally "washed" daily but our sins are for ever cleansed by his shed blood. Thus the Lord Jesus became "The Lamb of God" and a sacrifice for us all.
Great Video, and THANKS for posting! Regarding the 1 moron who gave it a "thumbs down," I wouldn't want to be standing next to them in a thunderstorm!!
One of my favorite hymns. Love that she says "warshed"...that's our Appalachian dialect! Think I was in 7th grade when I found out that Warshington didn't have an R in it!
@akiddlydivy2 ha ha. we just found out we had a aunt in washington and she made so much fun of us for sayin warshed and warshinton and also fishin poe lol
@paulpankau Don't forget Chicargo, Illinois and the noisemaker on a police car...the sigh-reen! My yankee friend made fun of me because I can't say pic-ture. In my hometown in SW Va, which turns out is only about 150 miles from Loretta's home, we say it "pitcher". I also catch myself saying dudn't, idn't, and leaving the K out of the worked "asked" altogether. No matter how long I'm away, that Southern accent remains, thank the Lord. I sure do miss those old Southern Bapist hymns. :)
Praise God for Loretta singing this song I used to sing it in my Church..Love it and it is so true..we all need to be washed in the blood of the Lam...Praise God.. TY Loretta another good Gospel song...
I just love this lady!!!! When I was little and too shy to sing in church, my Grandmom would tell me "you know that Loretta sang this song, and she would is listening in back of the church to hear how you sing it." I actually believed her and sang my heart out. LOL

The character of Jesus as depicted in the bible is worthy of only as much praise as can be afforded to a fictional character. Fictional characters often do inspire people. And yes, the story of Jesus as told in the gospels are properly labeled as fictional, given the lack of any contemporary accounts of his existence.
But, even if he did exist, I would not praise a person who believes in the practice of vicarious redemption.

Really? Unless you have evidence for a god (you'd be the first), I don't expect to lose anything.

please keep you bigatry to yourself. you can see a shrink if u continue to have problems
kamajiboy 2 years ago
Personal attacks do not do much to support your argument. Evidence will.
But it is funny that you say I should see a shrink. I'm a researcher of clinical psychology. (i.e., we're the one who tell the shrinks what to do)
Is it bigotry to state that fact that no contemporary accounts of the Jesus story exists? Look it up for yourself, if you wish.
painstrulove 2 years ago
lol - it's funny u mention ur a shrink - wasn't the muslim who murdered 12 people today in texas a shrink too
there is a reason i don't go see a pyscho to discuss my life

I didn't say I was a shrink, did I? I said I was a researcher in the field of clinical psychology.
Here is a free science lesson which pertains to your statement: correlation does not imply causation. Feel free to look that up, too.
I'm certainly glad you don't discuss your life with a psycho. Who knows what a psychopath would do?
But perhaps talking with a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist isn't a bad idea, if you ever feel the need to.
