@TexasMade20 Well ever since that loss to Alabama, they blamed that we relied too much on McCoy(70% accuracy) for all the plays. They felt that had we developed a strong downhill running game we could have had a better chance. And we are like so bad this year it's not even funny...it's like we traded places with aTm for a year. Some of these receivers were the same ones that McCoy had thrown too, and they caught them...but I think Garrett sucks.

@OuSucksEveryDay I don't think Garrett sucks. I look at some of the throws that have been tipped or just dropped and want to kick in the tv. They [receivers] have no confidence in Garrett whatsoever and that's what's killing our team. It's common sense to know that you can't develop a solid rushing attack within a year, especially breaking in a new QB who has ran Spread all his life. We don't even have the talent at RB to develop a rush attack. The best shot we have at a solid back is Fozzy.

@TexasMade20 Yeah, I know how you feel about those dropped passes. Our offensive line wasn't made to block for downhill running, but mostly to protect the qb for passing down the field. And it's been too long since Texas has actually run the ball against teams, so the blocking scheme has no foundation right now. But maybe next year we'll have a balanced offense since I heard we're getting a nice recruit for the Running-back position.

@OuSucksEveryDay yeah, now that we will start to recruit backs that we know will fit into the system well, they will recruit lineman and get our blocking system to where their skill set isn't just blocked for the pass, which they've done well, we have just had way too many dropped passes and missed opportunities by a kid (Gilbert) who our receivers do not trust at all, and I blame that on the offensive change. He's not as terrible as it looks on the stat sheet, man..

@TexasMade20 Well Gilbert looks like he can develop into a strong Qb, but It's just Greg Davis is chipping out worthless check-down and swing passes to the left and right that are killing us too. He doesn't seem to have the guts to call many down field throws. That's what makes GG and Texas look bad this year.

The receivers obviously don't trust Gilbert and if they don't trust him, then I'm quite sure the offensive coordinator doesn't either, that's probably why Davis calls the shit he does. If I'm not mistaken, they trusted him last year the ONE time they shouldn't have and he almost lead a comeback on the #1 defense of the year.. soo I don't see why he doesn't let it rip.

@TexasMade20 Yeah, Davis is obviously making detrimental calls for the entire team based on lack of trust. I guess we're going to have to wait until 2011 to see some changes, maybe they start Case McCoy next year. Haha, I wouldn't mind, I'm a McCoy fan after all :)

@pokemonlover1514 DJ Monroe is the fastest, by far. But Cody Johnson is our work horse, he just cant control the whole game with his skill set. He's a bruiser, that's why he's in the redzone offense most of the time. He can break runs, but he doesn't flourish until he's within the 20 yard line. We just need our line to get down the run blocking scheme and we will get back to where we need to be.

@TexasMade20 In 2008 CJ broke a 61 yard TD run. He can be our #1 back, but the coaches (Mack Brown in particular) haven't given him a chance untill last weeks game against FAU which he rushed over 100 yards in.

@TexasMade20 Cody Johnson has also looked good. He's leading the team in rushing currently. Also we have Malcolm Brown coming, a extremely good RB in highschool. We'll see him in 2011 (he's commited), hopefully he'll stay. Also a bunch of offensive linemen coming, the best of that group is a great offensive tackle from Arizona. So Texas looks like they could get a running game going maybe by 2012, hopefully next year though.

The rules clearly state (and the have replayed the tape a million times) the ball has to hit something before the clock stops.
