I think it's really stupid to cut it off where you did....one of the cool things about the track is how they arranged "Miss Shapiro" and "You Really Got me" together, and cutting it off where it is eliminates a really dramatic return to the "Miss Shapiro" riff after having transitioned into "You Really Got Me"...I don't understand why you cut it off, do you dislike the Kinks song so much, you'd rather leave out the rest of "Miss Shapiro? I thought the way they alternated was brilliant...
@cathoderoy I dont dislike the Kinks at all, in fact I am quite fond of their music. This track was taken right off my original vinyl record which happens to have a terrible gouge at about 30-35 seconds into "You Really Got Me Now". I dont think you , or anyone else for that matter, would want to listen to that. If I ever get an undamaged copy I'll be sure to update it.
Tho other one million people that would like to see the clip are computer illiterate, in rehab or your fuckin parents working their asses off whilst your on youtube now get to bed
Ahh, so good to hear Miss Shapiro again after all these years. Just to see the picture of the album covers; Diamond Head and 801 Live. These gentlemen make raunchy rock in to a specially aged wine; tight, rocking and memorable, at least for me. Thank you You Tube, for handing this out. What a great find.
This is such a great record and yet nobody knows it. I only know of it because a friend introduced me to it in about 1991. Then many years went by and it's so cool to hear it again! Only 5,115 views. I almost feel like setting up an "801 booth" downtown Seattle and have this playing and hand out samples of songs with info about ordering this album! OK, that's going too far but you know what I mean!
I heard this song once before, performed by some friends in a last-day-of-school micro woodstock thing (the school was called Woodlawn, so, not far off) circa 1978.
Anyway, the song sounded weird to me (I was like 14) but I never forgot the title. And here we are in 2010. .. I just type in a title and there it is.
Great album: in fact the best live album I've ever bought, apart from Colosseum live.Like listening to it when happily drunk. Unfortunately I'm more of a sleepy or sad drunk.
I have to agree with you. I've tipped more than a few beers while listening to this album. as a youngster it was a favorite of myself and many of my buddies.
this song needs more cowbell

I wonder if Rush was influenced by Eno's lush keyboards in their 80s phase.

Well said. Certainly a modern classic, and a great drunk-album.
