Me and my lil bro got so close. We hiked up to it and were right there when a police SUV atop Mt. Lee turned on a red light and told us over the speaker to "START CLIMBING BACK DOWN NOW!" and the climb back down was a bitch, we went early so the grass was still damp from dew and I almost ate shit quit a few times. And my shoes were covered in weeds. LOL so take busted shoes and clothes cause you will get dirty. Its steep as hell too.

@Smiles9907 This is an old video so it's fenced now and you can't go near the sign, you can only hike in a trail.

The new Hollywood sign was built by Heath & Company which was based in LA at the time of the refit. Heath corporate relocated to Dallas, TX area in late 1990's. Later the company merged with Federal Sign Company. Now the company is called Federal Heath.
