Defining Country Music has had us all in a pickle in each generation. The old country fans nearly crucified Ernest Tubb for bringing electric guitar into the Opry. The old 60's era country fans derided Waylon and Willie and said they weren't country, Nashville itself wouldn't touch Hank Jr. for two decades because he "wasn't country". All I can say is Jamey Johnson is country, and i am damn happy he's here.

@elevatin124 If you are going to see him. Catch him in a small venue. I have seen him three times, and he is AWESOME every time, but he really is in his element in smaller bars. He doesn't do much talking, but he will BLOW YOU AWAY with his music. He came to Monroe, Louisiana, played in a honkytonk called The Hooking Bull. Played over three hours with one stop where he said a few words. Not a single person left before he was done. It was amazing. No chairs everybody standing. Blown away.
