For being in one of the most successful bands in history and having played countless sold out shows... as ironic as it seems he is probably the most underrated guitarist of our generation... When you ask someone if they know John Frusciante maybe 2 or 3 times out of 10 they will know him... But the minute you bring up Cobain or any mediocre guitarist (now he was a good musician but nowhere near as amazing/unique of a guitarist of Frusciante) they know exactly who you are talking about...
