A Burmese clarified that the Myanmar's military government is fearful that US military helicopters flying over local terrains will gain vital and precise low flight information for future invasion. Their agrument is America would also not allow similar military flights over their homeland under any guise whatsoever. To brand them heartless is just propaganda! :)

I suggest you read about Burma before you judge. China is a rich country but still suppresses their people. Chinese have the strength to fight back, but the Burmese are so impoverished and weak, it is nearly impossible to fight back. Although we saw their attempt recently when the monks retaliated against the junta. I've travelled there many times. It needs help...not judgement.

Looks like everywhere you go their is help Burma aid program. Question: how much will actually reach them. Its one thing to send aid and its another to see that the real people that need them will get it. Their govt will prob. get them first for them then sell the rest. Or better yet they won't give it to no one and they will keep it. This is very sad.

But when you grow up and get out on your own and have to face the real world with the real bills it takes to make a life, then and only then you'll know why many are not willing to give up everything they own just to help people that really don't want help from the USA. I"m on my own dude don't assume so much. I ain't a millionare either I just do what I can. My job is a type of community service fyi. It's not that hard just to go donate a can of food or a shirt or two to a drive. That's hardly everything you own. A small sacrifice seeing that many have lost all.
In response to iraq - Like I said - wars are often fought for the wrong reasons - but helping people who lost everything and may very well die is a different cause all together. 2 different things.

Actually, I would gladly go over there to help and my significant other would be glad to help as well. It woudln't be FORCED. I have volunteered for disaster relief many times before. Even now I am doing community service planting trees accross my state. You are pretty selfish sitting there all nice and comfortable in your home. But for something like this - helping serve people in desperate need. This is different. It dosn't even have to be something epic to help. JUst go drop off something to a food drive or something.
