  • Isn't Badiou's "event" kind of a rip off of Lenin's current moment and Lukacs idea about "moments"? I guess Badiou's idea has some kind of weird ontology behind it...

  • @caversmill "Viva: Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, Adam Smith, Hayek, Mises, Rothbard, Ronald Reagan & Margaret Thatcher!"

In other words, viva low wage, anti-democratic, pro-fascist, impoverishment of working people everywhere.

Rand, Friedman, Hayek, Mises, and especially Reagan and Thatcher, were ruling class pigs whose actions and ideologies enslaved, impoverished and murdered millions out-right.

You are a fucking pig. We the workers are going to kill all fucking pigs.

  • Great job at glorifying a communist mass murderer who eagerly participated in the atrocities and purges against my people in Hungary not only in 1919 but after '45. Theory put in practice for sure. What is it whit you western marxists who never felt the grinding poverty and the intellectual/physical repression caused by communism that makes you cheer for a system that raked up a body count of 100 million+ ?! For fucks sake move to Cuba or North Korea and stop spreading your poison among us!

  • @sfplamen83

Well said! The base Western fans just don't have a clue. They associate Marxism with John Lennon or Che Guevara and GLOOOOORIOUS "REVOLUTION".

Just amazing that so many prominent "intellectuals" in the West, especially in the 60s and 70s but still today, could be OPENLY Marxist.

  • @suddenlyitsobvious

Now you are just trolling. Good luck with your ad hominems.

  • @pulsatingremedy

Why are you following me and lying about me using ad hominems? You couldn't sustain a debate so let's just leave it, shall we? Your standards are too low as far as I'm concerned and you bore me with your regurgiation of pompous concepts that you are not equipped to apply and actually work with.

  • @suddenlyitsobvious

I am not following you. I have no idea who you are, why would / how could I follow you?

  • @sfplamen83

They have democratized this poison very successfully.

Of course no revolution ever benefitted the masses.

I'm sure Germans were much better off living in nazi Germany than Russians in Leninist Russia...

Why do people glorify these sicko paranoid murderous systems today? Just sad.

  • @suddenlyitsobvious

"I'm sure Germans were much better off living in nazi Germany than Russians in Leninist Russia..."

The only reason why it MIGHT be better, is that Germany has been an imperialist country, which allowed it to gain wealth, and the fact that there is a time difference.

Leninist Russia in the 1940s would be better than Nazi-Germany in the 1940s.

  • Capitalism is the wage slavery of immense humanity in a politically manipulated tyrannical Market system of artificial scarcity to perpetuate the conditions of bondage and exploitation in the interest of the Ruling/Owning class. A minority imposition of commodity production for abstract process of capital accumulation and concentration of capital. We need to transcend the false, destructive, alienating condition of capitalism for a Moneyless,Classless,Stateless communities of humanity.

  • Georgy is spelled György. Thanks for posting.

  • The epoch is now. V.I. Lenin taught of the accelerants to the historical process, without which, petty-bourgeois reformism and trade-union consciousness would masquerade as truly "revolutionary" gains. He taught of imperialism as capitalist decay, of superprofits and third proletariatization, of a western labor aristocracy, etc- namely, he provided to be prescient in his analysis, so much so, they sullied his legacy. Thanks for restoring the Old Man back to critical theory.

  • Thank you for this illuminating video...

  • Great stuff.

  • THNX FOR UPLOADING BRO

  • Thank you for this. I think Rees is dead on at 46:25 about Lukacs, Lenin, and Trotsky.

  • A fascinating rationalization, that's for sure.

  • Yeah mate, its a bit hard with three kids under five to fly 10 000 miles to go to Marxism. Fair shake of the sauce bottle.

  • Wow! I'm at Marxism 2009 without leaving my home in Sydney. More please

  • thats what zizek calls the "revolution without a revolution" (ie a liberal position on politics and organizing)

  • Incredibly clear account by John Rees - extremely useful. Thanks to Ady for filming and posting it.
