Why do people think they should bow down to other people opinions? this whole facade of "everyone is entitled to their opinion"
My opinion is my opinion, of course i think it's right... why would i not think my opinion is right?! It's MY opinion and if think it's right don't take it out on me if i happen to think that your opinion is bollocks.
@luskentyreuk i dont respect his opinion your correct because hes a guy that only thinks what he thinks is correct he never listens or repsects anyones oppinions. The word dullard sums up morrisey who is a incessant ranter also the word retard sums you up your just a mr do-gooder who like morrisey talks shite
what a fucking lunatic morrisey is,he thinks he is the be all a end all of all human race his head is so far up his own fucking arse its unreal,he needs to step back and respect other ppls thoughts and opinions.after all said he is good at performing,my advice to mozza is to keep his opinions and mouth shut off stage
@leevwe Strange... Your opinions are far more offensive and dismissive, yet you suggest he's the one who should shut up?! I see no sign of you respecting his opinion.
Morrissey, as usual, speaks the truth that dullards do not want to hear.
Damn! Morrissey is so fantastic to listen to. He makes his point and makes it enjoyable to listen to. I think the guy could be insulting me and I'd have to listen to the entire rant.
Morrissey is quite the enigma; he's no doubt a celebrity and rock star himself, yet he's the antithesis of celebrity and rock star. That paradox only makes him a more fascinating public figure.
I want to leave a meaningful comment but I'm at a loss for words. He's always saying exactly what I'm feeling, both through his lyrics and his spoken words.
I love Morrissey's music. I often think I love Morrissey. However, I know this is not true. I don't know him. I know the feelings I have when I listen to his music and they are the MOST powerful feelings. He is my favorite artist, but I also know he is not 'down to earth'. Morrissey, I think, is a very introverted, self important person. It makes me like him more. He is a dick. Choose what is imporatant to you. I think he is fabulous. I like his ego. I think it's rad. Becase he has earned it.
@sushikitty71 I couldn't agree more to that. He doesn't seem to be a pleasant person to be around at all times, and as you say seem very introverted and somewhat egoistic. But what I do love him for is his music, and I would never claim to know what he's like. I have an idea. That's it. Then, all I can do is enjoying his music, which was his intention all along.
Morrissey is right, culture has gone to the dogs. Intelligent artists were not as 'cross examined' in the 60's and 70's as they are now. People are just so close minded and our critics and cultural producers are largely to blame.
I''ve liked this one a lot for a while. It's not often you get (in the end) a blushing, almost flustered Morrissey who divulges the undivulgable without giving too much away - yet giving EVERYTHING away! lol Very cute!
He says almost exactly the same things with exactly the same expressions in the jonathan ross interview; specifically the bit about enjoying life more, with the same gurn as the audience reacts. I guess you have to churn these things out because interviewers always ask the same bloody questions. Very benign interviewer.
i'd love to see and experience where the people i love (like Moz) found their voice - stand a little longer out front of his first home for me next time you walk by...:)
It wasn't his first home, but I walk down the road he used to live on in Stretford every single day, I only wish I knew which house it was he lived in aha :)
I love his accent he doesnt sound mancunian atall. i live on the road he grew up oh and have done since the day i was born 14 years ago. the people around there sound very very mancunian , i dont but alot do everybody is quite ... common.
Personally I see a really intelligent, down to earth guy who has realistic sentiments. As opposed to the usual `OMG` drivel from the idiots as described during this interview.
idiots are everywhere just look around you let them walk the plank ? morrissey is a modern day spokes man for the man who is informed and looks for the real life ? iddiots keep living in a matrix, the game tallent show . waken up live and love music ? life is bigger than big brother ? celibrate the master not the man ?

I am from Manchester and grew up listening to the Smiths and they had something to say about life, love, and growing up in the north of England. He is a complete patronising wanker though and so insecure about his own ability hence his fond affection for dead greats like Oscar Wild et al. Bjork once said about pop music "If Kylie did not do what she did..people might want me to do it ..so I am glad she is there" Morrissey likes working class culture when it suits ...that said musically brill
There is a difference between elite and celebrity. A celebrity is somebody who is known by more people than he/she knows him-/herself. But elite is somebody with specially skills, knowledge, abilities and survive a selection process. As I am writing this I realize that shows like American Idol give the audience the impression that "winners" are special, an elite. And then people go and buy their stuff because they believe that they are special because they were told so?
Growing up in the generation I have grown up in,everything is so fast paced and agresive, its hard not to get distracted by all the eye candy in the world, shit we can look up on the internet, stupid reality shows, they're fun to watch.we are dumbing ourselves down because its such a easy form of entertainment.I think in a way he has more of an advantage,he never grew up in our generation. What he says is true though, but the sad fact is that this is just how we are evolving and its gonna get worse
Are you sure that things are fast paced? Or do people just tell you that it is? There is a lot of rubbish done quickly, because people don't take their time to learn, gain experience, think things through. It will be difficult undo the rubbish again. Making things look great doesn't mean it is great. I think it is one of the major problems we are faced with at the moment. American Idol also teaches you how things are manipulated so that they make it easier for you to look through the facade.

Morrissey has nothing to say any more. His time has gone, the most depressing individual in music. The Smiths catered for 20 year old depressed jobless no hopers who lived in dingy bedsits in Rusholme.
he's extremely well spoken and insightful as always lovelovelove the moz... but a bit insulted the interviewer has a heineken beer on stage and not a local brew such as shiner bock and morrissey has water of course!
He is absolutely dead-on when he critiques American Idol and those new "celebrities" who are simply famous for being known. Cheers to Moz for defending intellegence in art!
very impressive interview & i have to admit i pretty much agree with him word for word. his take on american idol & the state of modern music & the lowest common denominator is spot on IMO.
Its good to c him being more open and freely expressing himself. He has come full circle and now the media and press are eatin out of his hand. We love you Morrissey!
his views on pop idol etc are so accurate it is to my mind impossible to dismiss this man as a miserablist and so on. the dismissals you so often hear in the media. he is certainly a hero of mine anyway in a world with very few to offer..."Why not just assume that everybody is extremely intelligent?.. how the world would change then"
