My local airline out here in trinidad , bought a 340-300 from virgin some years back , and the log book had it logged quite a few runs from heathrow to kai tak , pretty cool to know the aircraft has a vast history like that to a ledgendary airport like kai tak

the a340 300 is different from the 600 in many way, the most oubvious is the engine size. the 600 has massive engines, almost as big around as the fuesleage of some other airliners. it was a 300 that crashed in toronto (air france 358, i drove by on highway 401 right after it happened, it was unreal!!!

There is videos of A340-500/600's landing at kai tak, but this is definatly a A340-300 in the video due to engine size and only the single wheel in the middle.
