Thanks for posting this fantastic series. Dr. Schmidt's assessment that quasars - as galactic nucleuses - are the birth event of galaxies explain the redshifts we see based on the billions of light years of distance at which we find them. It is not difficult to imagine that the black holes at the center of close galaxies are what remains after the quasar stage.
