  • Lina Chiam really cannot speak well. A politician must be able to convey message cleary and she had a hard time getting her message across.

  • melissa hyak speaks better than lina chiam..hahahaha

  • josephine is a joke.

  • omg..sda is disturbing....can they not contest...

  • @HeliosExeunt Haha. I assume that you're living in one of the SDA-contested wards just as I am. And yeah, I agree. They suck big time. I'm not a PAP supporter but looking at the SDA makes me wanna vote for PAP.

  • What a big mistake to put Chiam's wife there.... irritating...

  • I never trust Josephine ! Even the host cut her off when she blah blah blah ...

    buey tahan

  • Pak Cik in Da House!!!

  • 12:23 Foreigners contribute GST?

  • 03:23 that Vincent guy sitting very comfortably and confidently. stylomilo

  • 12:02 - What distinguishes Singapore? Honestly, being a Singaporean, I think it's the language that is beyond redemption, seriousness and stupidity.

Most Singaporeans are so stupid that they need to be taught how to make love.

Clearly there's nothing wrong in speaking Singlish but why are we still enunciating 3 as tree? Even Scandinavians speaks better English than us.

Seriously, 40+ years later the country's realised it's uniquely boring and later made up for it with casinos and F1.

  • at 13:52 i knew who NOT to vote for already.

  • 13:52. big big LOL

  • I'm sorry but having zero gst for the low income isn't going to help anything because they are already spending so little. Even though the PAP is not perfect, for the time being it is hard to convince me that any of the other parties can do better.

That said, hopefully the increasing number of unhappy voices will be enough to wake our political leaders from their comfortable couches dreaming about a bright future for Singapore and start looking harder at the problems at hand.

    - First time voter

  • @blackrabbit2999 I dont think you realize what they're saying. What they are proposing is NOT a zero gst. It's a progressive gst, think paying no GST for food and paying something like 10% for your iPhone4.

And you're wrong saying that it wouldnt help anything because they're " spending so little ", I'm afraid your sense of "little" is probably a little skewed there. That pittance is, to them, a large sum of money and so it would help, perhaps not by pure numbers but certainly by proportion

  • Lina...omg...please...it's really excruciating

  • Anyone else think that Tharman is beginning to look more and more like a muppet?

  • SPP representative is like an Beautician Manager ..

SDA representatiive is a total shame cos he cant speak that well. Maybe his idea is impressive but as a Asisstant General Secretary.. its a total shame.

SDP representative very impressive, eloquent and very clear view.

WP representative on/off form to explain his views for WP.. but still the 2nd best.

  • I'm terribly sorry M'am, but the phrase "Power corrupts; Absolute power corrupts absolutely" was NOT coined by your husband, it was coined by Lord Acton,a noted British historian and moralist, in 1887.

Please do not pass it off as your own.

  • Seriously need to brush up on eloquence and preparedness...

  • Btw, if SDP or WP is contesting in my area which I hope so, they have already earned my vote.

  • I simply can't agree with what Josephine said about the affordability of healthcare services. Yes, she have never met a single person in her 5 years of service who cannot afford quality healthcare service. Anyone whom is facing against a health problem, would they ignore all possible forms of treatment because they could not afford? In the front, they are getting their treatments, but at the back, you see a whole load of debts to be cleared for the rest of their life. Is this called affordable?

  • OMG from 14:50

  • sad, not enough time for everything to be said

  • the only relevant rebutes are from Vincent and gerald... cheers...

  • Lol... Tharman trying to smoke ppl, Regressive taxation no matter how much you give back in transfer payments will make one much more worse off. MRS(Final) > MRS(initial) . Less choices = worse off. Cummon we're not idiots

  • SDP and workers Party ihave shown that they did their homework.. However, it is just painful to watch the other two opposition parties. If we are to pin our hopes on these alternative parties, our society will head for decline.

  • Just wtf is Lina thinking? Was she drunk?

  • Lina is totally out of line

  • Just wondering why the Mandarin political forum wasn't given as much publicity (trailers)? Could it be because the opposition representatives performed pretty well during that forum? They indeed raised practical and relevant issues that the PAP govt needs to address. The opposition representatives put forth their views and concerns lucidly and convincingly. Do watch the Mandarin political forum as well. The moderator for that forum did a better job. No one was unduly rushed or interrupted.

  • Minister's trying to control his laughter.

  • where's NSP and RP? goh meng soon and kenneth are more powerful to truimph PAP.. my only wish is no 3 and 4 corner fights..

  • Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Her husband said that? Didn't even bother to credit the real person who says it? I'm pretty sure a historian named Lord Acton said that.

  • i would agree wif sandman0. Dr Vincent and Gerald really provided good voices for the opposition parties.

  • SDA and SPP are just wasting time

  • PAP is still the best. Very eloquent speakers and clear train of thoughts.

Singapore is a very good society and the government has played the most important role in that. I travel often to other countries and stay extended terms in some countries. You will realise how fortunate we are.

SDP should also realise that we can't formulate policies based on the poorest man on the street. I think our current policies are pretty good.

BTW, I am not PAP lackey. Just a proud Singaporean.

  • @tancheeken I agree with your sentiments! i too am a proud Singaporean!

  • @tancheeken Exactly. After spending time in other countries, we should see how fortunate we are.

  • Wet markets?!?! WHAAAT???

  • Cheers to WP and SDP came prepared sadly Mrs Chaim pls get a able candidate to run Potong Pasir they deserve a better alternate voice in parliament and as usual Tharman was fair in his answers accepting facts but no solutions to the rising cost on CPI and Inflation

  • what is the SDA guy talking abt?!! its hilarious!!

  • Oh dear, Mrs Chiam seems to have trouble focusing on issues. She lacks that clarity of thinking not to mention depth of understanding. She is only regurgitating layman's grouses. A pity.

  • @hemjoo F U ...

  • SDA and SPP need to think about sending more eloquent, more prepared representatives. Their parts are truly excruciating. Great job by Vincent and Gerald though.

  • @sandman0 GOD SDA and SPP! Vincent and Gerald brought up good point, to which Josephine has no answers to, only evasive and denial answers, stating that in her area not a SINGLE person who have to received quality health care. Although I agree that regardless of progress, there will always be some who are trying to catch up, she also stated that instead of simple talks, they should look into REALLY helping them, which I assume to be actions taken. However, from my POV, much more can be done.

  • Further more, Josephine's argument often requires the Minister to help elaborate and rephrasing to SOUND more convincing, which, I personally feel, is rather bad. She does not make nor prove her point of argument, but rather, backfires to becoming a supporting source to Vincent's and Gerald's concern. All in all, PAP did a great job, HOWEVER, more can be improved, unless, I'm wrong the current seats are 82-2, could make to a 60-12-12 (or sth like that)

  • Well Done WP and SDP!

SDA and SPP seems too nervous to bring their points across.

  • the host should give them a small signal or hand sign to let them know that time is running out so they can end properly. PAP stood their ground but applauds to WP and SDP for performing well too. Cheers to them!

  • Melissa is no bitch. She's doing her job as a moderator. PAP, WP & SDP! Three cheers to all!

  • @TheAzazel83 agreed. bitch host

  • The bitch host keeps rushing them. I think she was late for a booty call.

  • Good plans can be drawn out from both either party but to make an implement after plans, was the one that screw up the good plans.. i believe most of singaporeans already notice that.. this is the weakness that our goverment has.

  • we should put an audience in there.

  • Keep it coming! ;))))))
