Thank You for posting, I have been checking youtube for videos of Gary and Im always grateful for another one. This one is great. Only 279 views though :D At first, I didnt even believe it would be an actual video. Thx everyone for being Garys fan
Do you not think AH ...this is a bit CHRISTIAN...as tho we are all SINNERS.....and the breast is somehow the tortured filter...? No ...to me..a mother is , by and large...warm flesh..who adores the child who needs her for survival...and nature is way beyond us...in that it has organised the perfect diet for the child...thru the mother....(i know there are exceptions) that's my 2 cent worth anyway..
@Poemsapennyeach Hi, I see what you mean about the breast as "tortured filter"-- making a kind of sacrifice? I think though he is seeing nature's bond between mother and child, so I don't vibe Christian underpinnings, like I do, say, in Catholic Kerouac. Snyder is one of the best Zen scholars the West ever produced. I enjoy his poetry because it tends to show reverence for women and children and natural roles. Thanks and no worries: 2 cents from you is worth a lot, and I enjoy your comments. :)

Thank you for this. I love seeing him at his cabin. What a choice place! I've been fascinated by him as a poet and zen person.

@Idlinfarm Hi, Ida. Thanks. His place is up in the Sierra Foothills, I hear. He fascinates me, too, and his work is a breath of very fresh air. :)
