  • Hey oddy , I must say iv been watching your channel for about 4 months now , I find the videos extremely helpful , plus I love hearing about the relative history of weapons . Brilliant reviews keep it up dude

  • dya want ta buy my 1??? :L

  • i have one of these and the wood stock smells brilliant almost distracting !

  • Hi. Great review. I have the same gun, but mine has a problem with the hop-up. It dosnt matter how I turn the hop-up weel. The BBs only fly straight for ca 10 meters before they curve down to the ground. I cant make it shoot straight at all for more than aprox 10 meters. Is my hop-up unit broken? I bought it used so there are no garatie/warenty (sp?). Is it an easy fix?

    Thanks :-)

  • my favourite ww2 gun is the russian ppsh-41 with a drum mag

  • Sorry to burst the bubble, but the AK47's internal workings are not truly based on the Stg44, but rather on the M1 Garand. The looser tolerences of the M1 Garand made more sense to Mikhael Kalashnikov than the Stg44's precision fitting. But with out the Stg44, he would never have had the idea.

That's why the AK and the Stg look similar.

  • @TK4541 OMFG you are a true noob - if you bothered to A)watch the video properly and actually listen and B) read the comments here you would have already seen this point discussed and resolved. He BASED his design does NOT mean he COPIED! No burst bubble here my friend - ya need to open your ears and listen and also educate yourself in the English language!

  • @OddysAirsoft Chill dude. I know what was said in the video and I mean no disrespect. I wasn't trying to mess with anyone, just giving my two cents.

  • Oddy you should use Facebook more to keep in contact with your young, cool fans. :)

  • @SMCincorporated On it 24/7

  • could you make a vid on the rules on airsoft?

  • Great gun stands up well to anything

  • Ha ha it shoots so slow it sounds like its about to run out of battery

  • what is up with the super tight purple fit shirt?

  • actually the SKS rifle is where he got the gas operating system from and alot of the firing mechanism from.

  • 5:40 i also live by that rule. but none of my weapons have failed including my ASG G36C witch was used in minus 10 Celsius.

  • @thegeneral123 Not having a go m8 at all - yes there are conflicting stories out there re its inception but I have read a fair few accounts that give a high probability that it was an inspiration! Keep commenting mate cause ur points are always good and well informed! I never EVER claim to know much about anything - but I am ALWAYS willing to learn ;)

  • @OddysAirsoft Thanks for the kind words mate. Long day was long today and I can be a bit abrupt with my comments. Keep up the good work! I did handle an AGM version of this gun and I would be very interested to see what if any differences are evident internally between the AGM and the ASG current release. I saw the internals of the AGM and it was a bit of a dog to be honest and they came in at 450 fps + out of the box! Staggeringly hot! I really want one of these to be honest.

  • @OddysAirsoft what program do you guys use for the intro?

  • @kruthix ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS

  • Fair comment Oddy! The STG44 was in my opinion a *slight* inspiration/influence for Kalashnikov. I made the mistake of jumping to conclusions regarding what you said and what I thought you said. Please accept my apologies regarding that miss understanding. I have read that Kalashnikov was quite emphatic that the AK 47 was in no way inspired by the STG44 and there have been conflicting opinions around this. Some say he looked at the STG44, others that he never had access to one. Jury is out.

  • @thegeneral123 Even if he never handled one, he must have been aware what the gun looked like, the reduced power cartridges and the over all lay out and capabilities. Even if he never held one, these desirable aspects must have on some level influenced his design. Even if the man is too proud to admit the possibility.

  • Apparently, Kalashnikov said he didn't base the AK off of the MP44 at all. He said ''This (AK47) is nothing like an MP44,I don't know how people see any resemblance.''

  • @DanishFlandersDK I don't know anywhere that stocks them or has them to lend us for review - so in a nut shell - won't be doing that :-(

  • @JamiesAirsoft MG34 - an absolute stunning beast of Airsoft coolness! He has finally got it working too :-)

  • What gun is Kris using in that picture?

  • PLEASE!!! IF YOU EVER GET YOU'RE HANDS ON A ''SRC G36C GEN. III / SRC SR36 C GEN. III THE PLEASE DO A REVIEW!!!!!

  • It might be a little heavier than the real steel one but, since airsoft mags weigh nothing like real mags loaded with ammo i quess it evens it out. :p

I wish they made airsoft mags with weigths inside them or something it would make them feel more reliable and realistic. Not to mention keep them from flying everywhere when the wind picks up. :p

  • @OddysAirsoft It's well worth a read. Also covers the M16 which is a plus. Sorry to get distracted but great review. Out of interest is there any stock play with the AEG? One of my friends had the AGM version and ended up having to attach a shim.

  • Great review oddy but you never told us the retail price?.....

  • It's unfair to say Kalashnikov based the AK completely of the STG 44. It was definitely influenced by the STG 44 in particular the external appearance but internally is very different. Also the Soviets had captured MP 43s in 1943 and forced Hugo Schmeiser (the designer of the STG44) to work for them after the war. That being said good video and looking forward to more.

  • @derdersoft FFS I have already said he took the basic components of the MP44 and designed the AK around it using his already great knowledge of gun building to improve/redesign and better on what he thought was already a near perfect gun - If you read up on ANY of the history of the AK design, Kalashnikov himself laid claim to the MP44 inspiring him! AAAAAGGGHHHH my head is going to explode!

  • @OddysAirsoft Just to prove Ger is right

Generally accepted as the world's first assault rifle, the StG44's effect on post-war arms design was wide-ranging, as evidenced by Mikhail Kalashnikov's AK-47, and later in the U.S. M16 and its variants. The Soviet Union was quick to adopt the assault rifle concept. The AK-47 used a similar-sized intermediate round and followed the design concept, but was mechanically different.

  • @WestIrishAirsoft Thanks for that - but I don't need to be proved right - I don't care if I am wrong just as long as we get to the bottom of things - but I can't stand when i get misquoted or paraphrased wrongly! I love guys who are able to comment on our vids and offer insightful and interesting info like @derdersoft - I will try to get hat book - might actually learn something! :)

  • @OddysAirsoft Sorry didn't mean to give you an aneurysm. The whole history of the AK is a bit dubious. Kalashnikov and other sources have given conflicting information. If you haven't already,I would recommend reading C.J. Chivers book as he discusses this in depth.

  • 7 cells ger its an 8.4 mate not a 9.6 as you declared it :) im open to correction :)

  • @WestIrishAirsoft Could well be m8 -my bad if it is!

  • I saw you cringe when talking about the AK !! :D

  • you can only fit a 8.4v battery to the stock unless you do a drill mod.vthe one you were holding was a 8.4s

  • The first assault rifle was the Italian-made Cei-Rigotti, which was developed in the 1890s and finished around 1900. While tested in Italy and the United Kingdom, it never entered military service, however. The first service assault rifle was the Russian Fedorov Avtomat issued for the first time in 1915, chambered for the Japanese 6.5x50mm Arisaka rifle cartridge, which was only used in small numbers. Secondly the AK-47 is not a copy of the STG44, internally they are totally different.

  • @thegeneral123 AFAIK -The MP44/STG44 was the first AR to be mass produced and used in the field. But I will stand to be corrected!

Also I never said the AK was a copy - Kalashnikov took the design of the MP44 and designed his AK around it, not only trying to improve on the features but to make them cheaper for mass production - if you read any of the history of the AK it's all there in black and white!
