@cekap65 Takes about 4 years. I did not get her as a sling. She was 4" when I got her and it took 2 years to get to 7.5" I have had another AG from a sling and it took her 2 years to get to 5" So by estimation, it can take them 4-5 years to get to 7.5" dependant on feeding and temps you keep them at. They can really eat ALOT.
@talon4wd that's great....worth the wait....well mine is about 5cm(~2inch)...guess mine has a long way more to go...maybe 5 years or so?..i feed it twice a week..and yes they do have a voracious appetite...cant wait for it to be that big...thanks for the info...
@ADspenc They can be defensive but its mostly due to their enormous appetite. Basically they think everything that moves is food so most of the time their defensive behavior is due to them wanting to feed. Mine tends to flick hairs at me after realizing I'm not trying to feed her. But does stand her ground. But every tarantula is different and so will be their temperment.
@carbonm306 Thank you. I love this species and am very proud to have gotten this far in size with one. Lets hope for more molts for a nice big stocky tarantula! And breeding this species may yield around 1500 slings. Breed with caution and a plan for all those slings!
how long did it take your to grow this big? did you get her as a sling?
