the new hatch is some what of a beast, i hated it but its actually a good car. it handles amazing and the build quality is probably better than any jap car.

Evo's are known to be more unreliable than subaru's, im not talking about melting internals but everything else round about them. i like them more than every other car apart from subaru, but i find evo's are poorly built. they remind me of a 1993 classic wrx.

Let's face it guys. The STI is more reliable, better interior, more practical (hence hatchback design with folding seats). Also, keep in mind the STI has a much stronger drive line than the EVO. If you tune the EVO around 400-500 hp, you'll need to rework the drive line. The STI's factory drive line will withstand 600+ hp. The only thing that's wrong with the new STI are the tail lamps, which could be tinted or modified to look better.

When I moved a few months ago, the STI helped me move a twin size bed, frame, and head board. Can't do that in an Evo.

These cars are just pre-modded Imprezas and Lancers. Don't confuse them with sports cars.

Because of this, they use the same drivetrain layout (AWD), and have similar engines. Who the hell ever mentioned that the FIA's (WRC) specs included the cars being exactly the same as their rally counterparts? The specs just mean that the car has to be derived from the rally version and have similar specs that are essential to rallying (like AWD drivetrain).

It's a downgraded WRC car, not a pre-upgraded car. 'Drive line', WTF is that supposed to mean? And no, the STI can't handle 600 HP on stock internals because of the ringland. The most it can handle on completely stock internals is 500HP/450WHP and even then you have to give it a lot of maintenance to make sure the pistons don't crack a rigland. The Evo can go on completely stock internals to 550HP/500WHP because it doesn't have the problem with the ringland.

The STI is just not as aggressive for tuning because of it's flat-4 design. Inline-4 is just better for tuning not only because the parts are cheaper, but also because it's known to be more reliable in regards of mileage.

The Scoobies 07 down and Evos IX and down are badass. The new ones are terribly ugly and way too electronic. They styling team for both cars should be fired. They keep original looks that only have gotten better since number 1 and they fuck it up. Its too bad. Same thing goes for the new skyline. R32, R33, and R34 are sick looking. The GTR fails. It too is too electronic. We want cars that WE drive... not the computer. I love my 07 STI!!!

It depends on the driver. The older STI's can win on take offs as well. There are a ton of vids going both ways. They are both badass. Ive driven them both. The Evo has better shocks and tires off the lot. The STI has a much nicer, deeper, exhaust note that lets you know its got some balls. Both have great exterior styling. STI has my vote on interior styling. Those two ups led me to buy my 07 STI instead of the Evo IX MR. I am actually trying to convince my dad to get an Evo. You can mod either

Looks are one thing but don't think a 330s 08 sti is slow, I had a prodrived 05sti and the 08 is faster. The handling in the 08 was bugging but prodrive springs have transformed it and it would whip the 05 in corners too.

thats because the blobeye with the prodrive pack has 305hp and the hatch has 330hp and they arent any different in weight.i have a 54 plate sti and it handles proper bad in the wet,very rolly in the dry aswell,never driven the hatch tho
