Para o padrão de agora realmente a qualidade é mais baixa. Folks, please take into account that YouTube retains fooling you. The "watch in high quality" link ABOVE the "Views"-counter of the video does actually NEVER provide STEREO sound, merely a better frequency range will be provided. But the majority of YouTube users don't care about as they've no better than crappy plastic speakers attached to their PC while I may hear the difference from the first second on, especially the drums at 0:05.
ok well i use sony vegas & mine doesnt have the mp4,Divx,mpeg4. It only has wmv,mpeg1,mpeg2 & avi. But i tried to save it with 480x360 w/ 30 fps & high bitrate but still doesnt have the "View in high quality"
Ok, it´s true. It happen because some videos aren´t HD videos or not High Quality videos when uploaded. Some of my videos not open automatically, need to use an trick, adding code after URL adress: &FMT=18.
_ this is because were uploaded on a long time ago.
Anyhow this seems to be a YouTube bug, since all videos if providing not totally tattered audio quality (as sadly too many do), sound appreciably better requesting with the &fmt=18 adjunct. Because there's a conspicious difference between 96 Kbit/s Mono and 128 Kbit/s Stereo. The need of this appendix to each request URL to ensure the maximum sound quality of the uploaded original video turns all QuickList-, Playlist- and Related-features of the YouTube-service into a travesty.
Youtube start the new moment of video quality. To make this, was made upgrade in pixel resolution and sample rate.
It´s not only, the original production need be made in broadcast quality. Not only to use HD camcorder, but the all process need to be made in broadcast techniques.
Quando a gente clica na opção de HQ a tela está ficando no tamanho de resolução HD. (tela grande). Gostei disso. Será que é definitivo ?

Pena que voce não viu como era a 1 ano atrás, época em que o Youtube lançou o primeiro modo HQ.
Após a mudança não houve re-conversão dos videos daí o player estica o video e não fica nítido como era. Confira o novo em "SD x HD - Antes x Depois"

Apparently your ONLY CHANCE to get video sound in STEREO is appending the video site URL by
&fmt=18
for example

_ An good tip is, use an good camera, all secret of the camcorder start in CCD . More pixels resolution will better footage saved.
_ Next, convert you video to correct aspect ratio to youtube, like 640x480 pixels or exactly 480x360. Make test with MP4 codec.
