  • Despite what people say there was a good car, sold my g reg early 214si with 150,000 miles and was still running nice, had never even been welded!

I paid £45 for it with the headgasket gone and about 100, 000 on the clock

  • That's a Honda engine, isn't it?

  • @quirpco No, it is the Rover K-Series engine. twin cam 16v

  • haha, your engine bay looks rather damn clean!!

  • sound like new

  • I can hear some popping at low rev, but still after 3 yrs car starts normally without any problems. Despite the fact that its really old, definately with that good engine It could propably overtake 1.6 or even 1.8 without problems ! :) nice car 5/5

  • My dad had two of these cars, they were great! A green '90 and a dark blue '94. He sold the green one and scrapped the blue one after the head gasket went. And me nan and grandad have one in the more modern shape. Bloody brilliant cars.

  • Just go to the scrappy and get another bonnet, you'll probably even get one the same colour. These cars are great, mines a 1991 with 158,000 on the clock.Just started it after 6 months on SORN,and the battery wasn't even flat! Amazing.

  • You need some petrol mate!!

  • Great video!

  • Fantastic !!!

    K-Series for the WIN !!!

  • Maybe it *is* worth another (good) paint job.

  • it had a collision with a drunken Priest in the mid 90s ha. The garage that repaired it did what looked like a really great job until a few year later when the paint started to fade and eventually fall off. Hence the dodgy bonnet, mismatching drivers wing and door.

  • Yeah, I read that. But wouldn't it be worth it to have it another paint job? Maybe just the hood and then give the whole car a nice detail job. It'll probably bring some money in the pocket and it could then do its job for another couple of years :)

  • *after selling it :P

  • rob have you been using this rovers bonet for paintball target practice

  • I dont believe this for a minute

  • Ill do you another one! Its still standing there...

  • no headgasket problems then

  • the one it came out of the factory with!

  • This model still have honda engine, so.. no problems...

  • No it doesn't. It has a 1.4 litre Rover K series built in Longbridge, England. The engine that made lightweight aluminium engines a reality, even for Honda.

  • @Plews you got that right mate, the K series engine kicks ass ^_^ most people who have such big opinions about Rover generally know very little, and have probably never even driven one before.

  • @Plews Isnt longbridge knocked down?

  • STARTED REALLY WELL CONSIDERING.

  • oh my...still great cars...

  • good video

  • nice video man
