Matches contain about 65 percent potassium chlorate, which is an oxidizer, so matches will combust without any available atmospheric oxygen, its just that once it consumes its own oxygen source, and there is no more atomisheric oxygen, then it dies out.
Wickedlasers sucks! notice how all their models, no matter how powerful have no safety features or heatsinking! They should be taken off the market, since they are not FDA compliant. the envee is MUCH BETTER!!!:(
Your correct, my hope when I was preparing the display was that there would be enough oxygen to light all four matches, but obviously that turned out not to be true and only the first one was lite in time.
