Rape is scary. It really is. I hate the thought of it. Rape is just another way of injustice and desperation in the world. The rapists should burn in hell. I can't stress the topic enough. As a survivor I can honestly say that it's not funny, nor cute. Rape ruines your life! You son't get those moments back, you can't tell out of fear that you might die. It's tragic.

Hello 42vince -- It's bad enough that these women and children are victimized by other males. I simply can not understand any husband that would tell his wife to leave immediately if she told him that she had been raped. She's being victimized twice!! Good grief!! Their culture is different from the one that I live in, but still......That is absolutely terrible!! I don't get it either. Maybe there's a degree of humiliation involved. Of course it fails to justify their husbands behavior (from our point of view) but I think it's important to note that the situation there is unique. The prevalence of rape in the DRC was described as the worst in the world. I read a story about women who were gang-raped in front of crowds & sometimes the husband was part of that crowd but against armed groups.. what could he do? Stripped of his pride, a man could crack

wow, how blessed are we, i feel so bad for these people that have to put up with this, i couldn't imagine someone raping me & taking my child & not having anyway to fight back or ever be able to talk not even to my husband for fear of loosing my home, even if they talked out about it they would probably be killed anyway for trying to speak out, so so very sad

I know-- one of the things that bothers me about rape are the people who've never had an opprotunity to tell their stories. It takes a lot of healing to recover from an event like this (as I can only imagine) but having to do so in silence & w/ out support is pretty disturbing
