  • Hey is this lens worth it for 100 with its case and in perfect condition?

  • @gatler05

Yes, that's what they usually go for. Second hand. It let's you take pictures which you never could achieve with your kit lens.

  • @uwesanfan I Found a 50mm F2 for 40 dollars should I get that or this for 100? Whats the difference between the two in low light and video. I know one is faster than the other, but is it a huge diffrence. Like will the F2 still do good in low light and take out noise?

  • @gatler05 I will narrow the 50mm 1.4 sometimes to 2.0 but you'll need a bit more light than.

The wider you can open your lens the less noise you'll have. But the wider you open the lens the less DOF ( depth of field) you can have too. The 2.0 will have more DOF but more noise. The noise will be manageable in post processing. You can use Avidemux to get rid of the noise.

I'd buy the one for 100 $ though.

  • hi, I set the ISO, shutter speed and locked the exposure and then turned to video mode. But the locked exposure is no more there. In the video the exposure is changing. I did set the AE-L button to exposure lock in the menu. Did miss something?

  • @tgunasekhar

I am not sure but I think it only works with a manual lens.

If your lens has an auto manual switch, set it to manual.

  • @tgunasekhar i don't htink you can set the ISO or shutter speed in video mode.

  • Wao you are the master of the KX, I can`t make image like this whit my Nikon 50mm f 1.4 lens on my Pentax kx in any of my test, i will try your configuration in this video to see if i can get something like it.

  • @CINEMACUTEO

    Thanks

let me know how it turned out.

  • I got very good result, like I always get some grain, but I suppose that it will be the same whit any other camera here because the city is a bit dark, I just compare with the camera lens and the difference is abysmal between F 1.4 and f 3.5

I wonder how much trial and error you had to do to get these settings.

  • So basically, have a lens with a wide aperature for low light filming and don't push the ISO too high?
