how can u say this song is worst with these lyrics and the way he sings them-imo this song is downright beautiful- i am also happy to see they let some equestrians participate in the video
Awsome they have a new album coming out! Unlike some bands that wind up repeating themselves, Level has always progressed while still retaining the core of what makes them such a great lyrical band. While Mark's bass playing has become more supportive the band's melodic and harmonic complexity has evolved into one of the best bands EVER! Too bad they have never been recognized for their mastery!
I don't get why people feel compelled to say this... no matter how good a song or band are I just think comments like this are divisive and provocative for no reason. And untrue. I like bands from the 60s all the way to modern day bands. They all rock. =)
Well , the majority of the new bands don't have the talent , or creativity than earlier bands, is my opinion. I don't say that all of them suck. Also, i'm not comparing only the song, but the band, and all level 42 songs, and as a fan, Level 42 never released a bad song. I'm petty shureEvery level 42 fan apprecites not only good music but muscianship and a both of technique wich they have. But come on, Avril Lavigne, or boy bands or.. all those prepackaged "artists" have the talent of a mule.
And I'm not sayn ALL of the bands but the majority.
I just feel like many other people that there's no more music like this anymore , and there is a general tendency of music becoming more and more artificial and repetitive and superficial. Level 42 never relied on their apperence really but there music. Hey there are lots of 70 and 80 bands that suck. I mean I can listen from Napalm Death to Bobby Darin or Rick astley no kidding here. But It's hard for me to find new bands good music .
With Boon and Philip out of Level 42's original line up,the music did suffer on their consequent albums, however from time to time Mark and Mike did come up with musical gems like this offering.Great video as well.
I wouldn't say if 'suffered' it was just different - up until 'World Machine' they had been very much a funk-fusion band. After 'World Machine' and 'Running In The Family' the band took a change of direction but the music still sounds great.
As to Forever Now, I thought it was a great album. Yes, it's different than some of their older work but, that's a GOOD thing. I think it's unfortunate that some music fans never want their favorite artists to evolve. Sure Starchild or Something About you are great tracks but how many times do you want to hear the same old tracks?
agreed. The song forever now is fucking awesome too. I've heard that dissed by avid fans and i simply don't know why - tight ass cheesy funk - what else do you want from Level 42?? :P this song is pretty damn cool too. Can't think of much level 42 stuff i can say i dislike.
The track is pretty cool, but "Forever Now" was a weak album and not a notable work at all. Except the fact that this was their last album for many years.
>>Brilliant... another "band in car in desert with hot girl" video, but song is pretty lively and theres' some nice, funny touches. (like the disappearing at the start) Interesting to see the kind of tints now common on programmes like the UK's Top Gear.

At least they didn't do club and acid house garb!

Too right! Level 42 have always been a very honest band and not tried to change just to suit the times.
I look forward to their new album which should be out in Autumn or early 2010.
