  • Don 'Quicksott' ... is that really the way the British pronounce it? Americans use the old Spanish pronunciation (although pronounce the adjective quixotic in her fashion)

  • splendidi ballerini! ma soprattutto artisti...

  • I don't believe it, Natalia Osipova has haters?

  • kak on gavarit rusiya y natacha ne dalaet?

  • OK. Natalia Osipova is amazing... the day that anyone saying they dont like her can actually DO WHAT SHE DOES, is the day that they can critique. Osipova brings so much energy and passion and drive with her to the stage. Someone like Somova is nice too but in a completely different way. Dancing isnt all about having a beautiful body or all of this 'bravura'. ITs a form of expressing yourself and I believe that both Somova AND NAtalia do this in different ways.

  • She's got to be good if people feel the need to voice their dislike like haters tend to do.

  • Stop hating on Osipova people, fact of the matter is she is great at what she does regardless of whether you do or do not like her... Chill out.

  • why you hate her so much? She is an excellent ballerina with a perfect technique and bravura, and this make difference, even if she has not the perfect body and extension of dancers coming out from Vaganova Academy! In her performances she let the ballet come true around people who see her and this is what a principal dancer like her should necessarely have.Don't you think Ballet would be very boring if we had all dancers like Somova? let's appreciate different!

  • @Fouette0988 I believe that ppl feel cheated. See, the bravura is fake. The talent is fake. Osipova is a product of .. only a Russian word will do - r a s k r u t k a. Fact that she doesn't have a ballerina physique is secondary.

  • Natalia has something that her haters can't understand : her passion. Yes, no need to have THE classical dance body type to know how to dance. Dancing is first from the heart! YES you can dance even if you haven't good feet, and a lot of people forget it. Thanks you, Natalia isn't a carbonate copy of all the others dancers. There's a lot of dancers who haven't the body type, the good feet, but they are just amazing (look at Margot Fonteyn or even Alina Cojocaru!)

  • @MamzeilleLili I'm agree with you, people thinks that a good ballerina is just a pair of long and flexible legs, and high arched feet, a real ballerina has inner power, passion and soul, and osipova has all of this!

  • very nice, but the choreography is fairly different from what I've seen. My favorite would have to be the one danced by Fonteyn & Nureyev

  • You know what, Natalia haters - you're all too rude and offensive. You don't like her - fine. But calling her a monstrosity? a pony?! What's wrong with you? Have you no manners at all? You want to critique her - please do so, but for your information, calling someone "the ugliest thing" is not a critique, it's an insult. And it only shows who you are, rather than who Osipova is, and let me tell you - through comments like these, you don't look pretty!

  • And another thing: personally, I fell in love with classical ballet after watching Natalia. And I've been watching ballets since I was six. But could never understand or feel them. They always seemed too outdated, lacking logic, and just...stupid (what exactly do mean 32 fouttes? why are you showing me tricks, I'm not in circus!). Osipova changed all that in a blink of an eye. Watching her, everything made sense to me. Suddenly, I could feel it. Not bad for a "ballet monstrosity"!

  • @akil3120 agree 100%! and it's funny how she's a principal dancer at the bolshoi and these haters are not, Natalia wins!

  • Love them both but how does Natalia put her hair in a bun??

  • What happened?! Yes, Natalia might need some refining, but to call her a 'monstrosity with flat paws..' or the 'ugliest thing that had EVER happened to classical ballet' is just so unkind and untrue. Because what Natalia *does* have makes up for everything she lacks, and no, I'm not talking about her famous jump - I'm talking about her ability to *feel* things on stage, to make the audience feel, to move them. She is an artist, as you would see if you could look past the body and see the soul.

  • @DreamsontheWater Well, she does have rather unshapely feet!

  • Natalia is one of the greatest ballerinas of all time! her haters are so jealous! The Bolshoi has the highest standards&she wouldn't be one of their principal dancers if she wasn't considered one of the best, by the best -the experts! nobody cares what you haters with no talent have to say about her!! she has more passion than most dancers&so much stage presence! she is the best Kitri, Svetlana-best Odette, Uliana- best Dying Swan. Svetlana can't do Kitri well. they all have their own strengths.

  • People without talent and jelous like the ones who deny the genius of these two should just shut up. For sure you won't ever be able to reach an inch of their talent even if you lived 100 years. That's for sure.

  • @lanfranco63Yes, that's it! I totally agree with your comment.

Youtube has millions of videos posted each day and people who don't like the couple should look for pages according to their interests.

BOTH ARE GREAT DANCERS, still very young, a happy and beautiful couple, undeniably well known worldwide, rewarded with numerous prestigious international awards and I think... making lots of money.

Unfortunately their success makes some people envious... C'est la vie!

  • @lanfranco63 What Genius? Wooden arms, sloppy feet, crooked legs... no beautiful upper back, no port-de-bras to speak of. Oh, yeah, Osipova moves real fast and jumps real high.

  • @MrRight1000 Natalia Osipova is much more than just fast turns and high jumps: she can actually dance, unlike many of the present-day rhythmic gymnasts with pointe shoes ballet illiterates are so obsessed with.

  • @MrRight1000 now you are talking about alina somova!!oh ,yeah, somova has extreme extensions she can't control..don't get me laugh!!please buy glasses!!!Natalia is one of the most brilliant dancers now!!

  • ok I am perhaps the only one to love and appreciate them so much ...(but I don't think so) I find both wonderful. Natalia Osipov, not perfect, as indeed it is no dancer, but talented and passionate, great temperament and technique.

Ivan Vasiliev is a great and I say no more! Beautiful dancers!

  • Never been a fan of either of the two, especially Natalia, considering them too show manlike. But here, Osipova is not bad. I give her credit for trying to make the best out of her limited esthetic faculties: arms that are perhaps too short, legs that are not quite what we are used to see in a classical dancer and feet that are, well, broad and untidy. She is still giving her best and for that deserves my respect.

  • Dancers, please tone down your rhetoric. Natalia Osipova might not appeal to every taste, but the lady clearly has solid technique to properly balance, pirouette and sauté. Yes, she lacks refinement but please bare in mind that it is not her fault. She was not born with Zaharova’s feet or Lopatkina’s arms.

  • @balanchinedancer Lopatkina is 37 years old ; Svetlana Zakharova is 32 years old and Natalia Osipova is only 25 years old ... To the good listener half a word is enough...

  • What on Earth is with all these sudden Osipova haters coming out of the woodwork? We all have out own tastes and preferences, fine, but a 'hippo', really? Well done losing credibility for criticism you wanted to share.

And I'm reasonably certain leading ballet companies have a better idea of what they want in a ballerina than ridiculous Youtube commentators. Just sayin'

  • What makes me cry is that this monstrosity with flat paws and legs of a fawn passes for a leading ballerina of any reputable company, let alone the Bolshoi.

  • @ilia0708

  • you obviously don't know anything of ballet, this is so untrue

  • Amazing is that Osipova found herself in London's Coliseum when she should be galloping at a hippodrome.

  • I saw the show twice, on the 11th and 12th of July, and it was absoluetly amazing. These two are by fa the most credible Romeo and Juliet I have ever seen. Osipova's interpretation of Juliet is modern, less suave but more drama-infused. He emphasis is on communicating Juliet's passion, fear, desperation and hope, and she does in in a way that brought me to tears. And Vasiliev's Romeo is a vision of lyricism, so young, fresh and exuberant, yet so pure! There is so much sincerity in their dancing!

  • Londoners, behold! Circus pony is being important to London's Coliseum from Bolshoi! What a ridiculous creature Osipva is.

  • @balletbabe1999 I wonder if the sad individual who posted this comment has actually seen the show. No sign that s/he has...

  • Is this what currently passes for a classical dancer at the Bolshoi????

  • Ivan is a different story. When a role suites him, he is capable of creating a magnificent personage on stage.

  • They are my favourite dancers atm! Beautiful.

  • Thank you for uploading this - I have been looking for any footage of Natalia's Juliet since her debut last summer!

  • @DreamsontheWater I wish someone had taped her debut. I've asked the staff at the MET multiple times and they said that it wasn't professionally taped. But it is a performance that I will never forget. She LIVED that performance. I have never cried so hard at a ballet before and the curtain call was just beautiful. She couldn't stop crying...both her and David were visibly moved. It was simply beautiful. I wish someone had taped it!

  • "don quicksot" I hate her!

  • @MrNocco I lol'd at that part!

  • @MrNocco HOW!! WHY!!! What motive could pollute the mind to hate her?

  • @loulie1997 if you pronounce don quixote the same that she does, then do yourself a favor and ********************

  • @MrNocco I don't and forgive me for reading your comment wrong that thinking that you hated natalia... :l

  • Perfect couple. He is as spectacular as she is.
