Apparently since the work on the Mount Reef in May the the reef has been more consistent, when there has been ANY swell. I posted on youtube some waves I saw on the 5th of September 2008

Ultimately, I would like to see multipurpose reefs be a consideration, either from private businesses, or from the public sector. I think it would be a step in the right direction for our communities.

Unfortunately, little old bay of plenty doesn't get the most consistent swell. With the mount reef, it needs a decent long period swell, from the right angle. When we get a good swell coming through, it may not be at the right angle or vice versa.

It does crank occasionally (VERY occasionally).

But it had further work done on it a couple months ago, and we are yet to have a truly solid swell hit it, so fingers crossed...
