@SixStringIcon: Unfortunately, it does happen.....not only that, but we can get twisters in the fall, too......hell, I remember a couple or warnings we had sometime in the general vicinity of December '04/January '05(possibly the latter).

I was literally right next to where you guys were at here! The tornado went by only like 100 yards from me! How freaky is that?!?

@kevinbailey1974 Youre just lucky it was a moderate EF-1 with a narrow track (75 yards tops) The man who died at the lumber yard was on the outside edge of the track where it knocked over all the wood.

This was a hairs breadth from being a major incident except the outflow choked the circulation briefly, it went on to gain a good head of streangth but it hit the river bottom so there were very few buildings it hit. Put it in town at the strongest and you would be looking at a low-mid end EF-3.

I was there on salona street, one down from carson. The tornado moved right down the highway lol.

I remember this! The forming Tornado formed right over my house! Thank GOD it was a fast moving cloud and hit touchdown about a 1/4 mile away!

I was about 10 minutes behind this storm and was the first to call in to WBAP to report the damage. They had no idea that a tornado had even touched down.

This very tornado had sirens going off all the way in Dallas >_> Had me sitting under a fucking bridge for nearly an hour cause everyone was to shit face to realize the damn clouds werent green, so it wasnt anywhere near us >_>

Ha ha.... you AREN'T serious!!!! Clouds are NOT always green in the presence of tornadoes! And green clouds DO NOT always mean there are tornadoes present! I'd say you might be the shit faced one if you really believe that nonsense!

Contratry to popular belief, green clouds do not signify a possible tornado - they signify the presence of heavy hail that is being kept aloft by wind shear. The reason that some storm chasers mention green clouds and tornados is because if wind shear is keeping heavy hail aloft, then conditions are favorable for tornado formation. Don't ever assume that if the clouds aren't green, there's not a tornado close to you.

The power went out at the gas station. Gas stations automatically shut off all fuel flow from the underground tanks when the power fails. There wouldn't have been an explosion. However, a gas station is not the best cover because they are not heavily constructed.
