On the other hand, instead of fleeing the scene, Gillard could've been a true leader and offered to address the crowd, seizing on the opportunity to calm the tension and enter into a direct dialog with the Embassy (and even up-stage Abbott). That could've turned the situation around, and made history.

On the other hand, instead of fleeing the scene, Gillard could've been a true leader and offered to address the crowd, seizing on the opportunity to calm the tension and enter into a direct dialog with the Embassy (and even up-stage Abbott). That could've turned the situation around, and made history.
