It isn't different. The premise is simple: Americans are incredibly diverse, and if you aren't professional enough to deal with it, don't join. The people in the military should have no problem adjusting to gays serving any more than women serving, Jews serving, Republicans or Democrats serving. All of that is irrelevant. The military, like the nation, is incredibly diverse. You can't just give the religious ones the ability to dictate policy because they feel uncomfortable. Suck it up.
I highly agree its the peope in this great nation that fails to realize that AMERICA is a MULTICULTURAL country. If you fail to realize that then you are the problem. Everyone has had an impact on this country through multiculturalism. All of our resources goods technology farming everything. My point Gays, Color people, etc is not a new thing they been here since the beginning. Its how do we more forward as a multicultural nation. Just like GB and all the NATO countrys out there

Ask you self a few question and re-read my statement if GAYS ,BLACKS , and DIFFERENT PEOPLE ALL OVER THIS COUNTRY why should we as a nation ignore such problem as though they never happen and it just recently became an issue. Dumming it down it basically means why do we continue to oppress people of difference when they already been here since the beginning.Why should as a nation avoid such issues that need to be address? Other nations for example Great Britian values and respect all forms of diversity and the vast multiculutralism in it country if you watch BBC the issue that being addressed with Islamic/Muslims. GB doesn't avoided these type of issues.
Just so you know Im and officer is the USMC only if your knew the oppression and constant looking over the shoulder and the threats that come with out performing other people and the only way to knock you out is to pull the handy dandy "Gay Card". I would say America needs to learn from it mother land Great Britain or maybe Israel. On how to deal with accepting gays in the military. Or the other NATO countries.
I'm assuming you were addressing me. To begin with, I am gay, and I did state that I oppose this policy. However, multiculturalism as a philosophy is disgusting. It values all cultures as equal, and I think that is A. logically impossible, and B. immoral. Some cultures are inferior, including those that trample on the rights of individuals - they as such deserve no respect or tolerance.
