It is horrible! you go so high up on the turnings I remember seeing this big tree going diaganal from me, and the feeling was horrible, but somehow it was pretty fun!

That's a long cycle for a theme park ride. It's usually 90 secs, and your video is twice that. You can get longer cycles of Top Scan at travelling fairs, but still, good show Thorpe :-)

everytime i see it im afraid to ride it and just walking twenty times or so around it with a very critical look. lol

first ride in 2004 was very good and smooth, second ride in 2009 was a bit harsh and not so enjoyable for me. im getting older, maybe thats the cause. and i needed a good friend sitting near me...

all in all: you have to ride it! i suggest sitting inside instead of outside like me for the first ride.

i remember the day i first went on this =/ i felt really sick... then to help the sickness.... as i got off ... i twanged my balls on the end of the seat, the chunky bit thats in between your legs... and because everyone got off first just as i was getting off, the thing moved back a little and DOOF.... right where it hurts.. i was in agony... and not only that i felt sick enough as it was without that happening!!! but yeah.. trial and error haha

The Samurai at thorpe park is crap comparied to what it was at chessington if you look at the chessington one on youtube you'll see its much master and smoother. i thought they were meant to have the more intense ride at thorpe yet they made samurai slower when they moved it to thorpe park, and becus eits slower its more uncomfortable when it was faster the g force made it more comfortable its not as fun at thorpe.

i went on this ride right at the begginning of my visit so i didnt actually see what it was like, and i dont like rollercoasters! scared me so much but i loved it too. i sat on the far inside seat and i cant imagine what it is like on the far outside!!

It goes upside down a bit, it depends what setting it's on. Last time I went on it went upside down loads, whereas other times it's been very tame. If you're really scared, sit on the seat nearest the centre of the ride - the end seat, but not the outside end, if you get me. It will feel less intense. I would recommend riding it, it's such a laugh!

theres a reason not to swing.. we were told not to rock on the ride and people still did.. the ride needless to say.. lost momentum and they had to wait 3 mins unpside down for it to recharge..

It's true that it can affect the ride, in that it gets stuck, but only at the end. So it will finish, return the right way up, but will take ages to lower to the ground. It wouldn't be upside down. The only way it could have got stuck upside down was if it was emergency stopped, but it would be rare for it to stop in a place where the pods would stay upside down.

Plus if the ride was stopped, it can be re-started straight away, no waiting for anything to "recharge" lol
