I passed 2 weeks ago. Independent Driving is a great idea as it gives you a real idea of what it's going to be like once you pass. It only lasts for about 10 minutes.

@2eyre I actually forgot what the test person told me and asked for the directions again whilst I was driving. I still passed first time so believe me, memory isn't tested.

I have my driving test in 1 hour , this is my third try , here in England is so dificult I have Brazilian driving license 10 years but I failed 2 . I hope I pass this time

You can ask the examiner directions during the independent driving element no matter the method, so if following signs you could confirm a roundabout exit.

if following a map, the same applies, ask if you cant remember which way to go.

The important thing is to ask early enough, so you can safely deal with the junction.

Good video. It seems to depend on the test area how they do it. Sometimes they show you a diagram of where they want you to go which is how it was done on my test. Thankfully I passed as the next day my theory certificate ran out!

This is bullshit and very stupid. When i took my test i was told to look at the sign that says southgate and follow it through but i forgotten and missed it, but i didnt make any errors in my driving. The FUCKIN examiner gave me a minor WHAT A FUCKIN CUNT. He gave me a minor for not seeing the sign. My instructor was furious. That SOB desrves to die. Thers nothing indepent about it. Your still driving to certain place that YOUVE BEEN TOLD instead of just driving independetly. Fuck DSA bitch.

My nerves got the best of me, mucked up my reverse parking manouver, some twat of a driver made me block a junction with roadworks on the opposite direction, had three lorries overtaking me. I knew I was going to fail! When the first cok up happened, that was it! I knew it was going to go tits up! Im booking another test for april now! Need more practice!

@richieschick You don't need 7months of practice, book it ASAP. Are you with BSM? They drag out lessons because they have to pay £240 a week, after that is when they make their own money.

ive got my test on the 30th sept so hopefully i wont have to do this,,,but just incase 3rd time isnt the lucky one is it true you cant actually fail this by going the wrong direction? I understand that you'll receive a minor mark or sumin but as long as you drive in a safe manner you wont fail for it...
