The Pre-2005's sound better. More throaty and a lot like the fox body's. I'm going to buy one of those on sound alone now.

@mubbajubba that becuase the pre 05's were push rod engines the 05's+ are SOHC

push rods are old school = better sound

@xHypothermiax Only the older 5.0's were pushrod engines. All the 4.6 GTs are SOHC but 96-04 being 2 valve and the 05-10 being 3 valve. I have to agree that the 2 valves sound better though especially with the borla's.

The 5.0s were pushrod and the 4.6s are modular. There you go. And I believe you mean typing out loud, not talking lol.

nice... i just bought a 2000 gt, only 12k miles for $6800 (sick deal i know)... if you dont mind me askin how much did you pay for the whole borla stinger exhaust set-up? im kinda in a wash between borla which are really expensive, slp which is loud (which i want) but maybe to raspy, and flowmaster (but there not loud enough)... so which should i go with trying to keep it at $600 or so

yea i got a pretty good deal... i went ahead and got the slp loudmouth "shotgun" resonators in place of my stock mufflers. i didnt go with the whole catback set-up cause i dont have the money and i think it was just to raspy.. but my god it sounds soooo good!! it sounds like a borla/slp mix in real life, its sooo nice!!!

i just did the slp loudmouth 1 mufflers, and then i did 4" tips (tips will make a difference)... did you check out my vids? i got 3 so far of my mustang, but it sounds crappy cause i have a p.o.s. camcorder

$140 for the mufflers, $155 for the tips, and $150 for the installation.  it would of been cheaper for the instal but the mufflers are just a tad shorter than stock, so i needed to get some extra piping

yea i know, its like an orange/red mix... i wasnt sure if i would like it or not, but i got the windows tinted yesterday (20% on the front, 5% or limo in the back) and it makes the car look soooooooo good!!!

@rambojoe92 you can get any fabric seats you want....leather is so impractical though. Requires too much maintainence and if it gets a little dry you slip around like hell. I have some factory leather seats sitting around somewhere....in the trash

How is the sound inside the car with the stingers? Would the sound be loud enough to annoy a passenger on a long road trip? As far as Borla goes, I am stuck between the touring system and the stingers.

It was 5% (Limo) all around, but I just recently got a fix it and put 18% back on the front which was a mistake.. shoulda stuck with 5.
