  • what did u use for the huge rock faces

  • @Adamlovesmedal They are called Rubber Rocks. I can't post a link, but google 'cripplebush valley models' to find the site.

  • I have two questions. 1: Is that atlas track? 2: Can you tell me how wide N scale track is?

  • @DralionROBLOX It's all Micro Engineering Code 55 track. The Helix was Atlas Code 55. Not sure on the exact width off hand though.

  • how do u like that new atlas track what do u use for switch motors

  • @trackspike64 Love the C55, though these days I use Micro Engineering track. I use Tortoise switch motors as well.

    thanks for watching!

  • do you have a track plan i would love to see it:)

  • @atsf3780 I have them in the gallery at my blog site, but I can't post a link here. Stupid youtube.

  • NICE!!!

  • The track that's on top of the WS risers- how do you plan on throwing the switches? Tortoise Machine?

  • @ChicagoGringo I used Circuitron's remote tortoise mount at most spots. It has a 2-3 inch control rod that ran up the foam.

  • hi, if your layout is dcc what system do you have and how do you operate 2 trains at once?

  • @AARGENS13 I use a Digitrax DCS100 system for my layouts. DCC allows multiple trains to run at once because each train as its' own digital decoder in it.

  • The helix is very nice. Just remember that a 2% grade will put stress on your couplers...so use MT's, not the imitation crap.

  • @m301 I have been using katos couplers on 4% grades during testing, so there isn't much of a problem with those

  • nice helix and that is the best way to go!! nice layout

  • amazing layout man, love the helix

  • cool

  • Did you make the helix or did you buy it from a store or did u get plans. nice track. :) how hight is the helix up

chrisdoncas@gmail.com can i have the mesherments fore thr helix?

  • Excellent layout model. Tell please from what the big and long buildings are made. Factories, the big warehouses. I never saw similar kits on sale. It hand made?

  • @bass0829 Most of these kits are made by Walther's or Micro Engineering.

  • WOW it is starthing to look great. Please tell that those mountains are pre-ade and the can be bent Would you please tell me where can I buy them on-line.

    TY

    FRANK

  • great stuff - look forward to seeing more.

  • amazing layout

  • All i have to say is, Amazing.

  • You are on a great start for a layout. I belive that your Taco bell building is made by USA summit please let me know who makes the Pizza hut building.

    Ty

  • Correct. The Taco Bell is from USA Summit. The Pizza hut is a old kit by Life-Like. You can find them on ebay usually.

  • Did you make the helix or did you buy it from a store or did u get plans. nice track. :)

  • The helix is a kit from Ashlin Trains

  • Yes; nice - at least your helix has a point to it - there seem to be people building them for their own sake. Yours is good. Look forward to seeing the layout with more progresss.

  • the helix is cool and all but are you gong to close it in and whats the point of making one??

  • Yes, it'll be closed in eventually as I do more work on the scenery.

  • nice video! what are your helix dimensions--grade in particular?

  • The helix is a 2% grade, with the outer radius being 16.5" and the inner being like 15.75" or something. It was a kit purchased from Ashlin Trains.

  • That's going to be a fine looking layout when ya getter done! Very smooth running.

    Jim

  • Nice job on the helix. How are you going to hide it? Backdrop? What about access? I like your use of WS foam ramps and such. That company has revolutionized scenery! Good video.

  • Yeah, Probably once I get most of the track wiring run to the upper level I'll put in a backdrop on the lowerlevel to hide the helix, and high enough to just block view of it.

For access I have a hole cut in so I'll be able to reach all of the track inside in case of a derailment, and also that upper turnout for maintenance if ever needed.

And yup. The WS foam ramps make grades a snap. I like 'em.
